Remarks

This college has no ragging. But the college is run like a boarding school. You won't get any feelings of college here. It's like a school which starts with a prayer. Students bunking classes are suspended immediately. Less than 80% attendance will result in your name put up on debarred list.

Entrance Preview

I got 78% in 12th in best four subjects which were Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English Core. Next step is to fill up the form and get prepared for a round of interview with the panel. After the interview you will be called if selected.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

One of the six founding courses of study at GEC, Mechanical Engineering embodies the motto mind and hand. Disciplinary depth and breadth, together with hands-on discovery and physical realization, characterize our nationally and internationally recognized leadership in research, education, and innovation.

Internships Opportunities

Our college offers internships for the students who are interested in going via the support of the college. . Internship opportunities were given to all the students in companies. Average stipend offered to the students was around rupees 5000-7000 per month.

Placement Experience

4

Placements for my senior batch have been good. Last year around 85% of students in CSE, IT, ECE departments were placed. This year placement has increased. This year companies for EN and ME department have also visited our college. In ME department, around 40% students have been placed this year and still counting. Highest package till date is around Rs. 20 lakhs and the average is around 4.5 lakhs.

College Events

3.5

The university conducts seminars on technical and managerial topics where highly qualified and experienced people from industries give lectures. The workshops, industry visits, events, etc., are also helpful for those who want to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field. The university also supports various student organizations for social work events and technical projects. Conferences and guest lectures were very nice.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is quite similar to other private colleges, which is 84,000 per year for four consecutive years, but other than that if you miss an exam you havto pay 2500 for one exam and even if someone is not well you have to either give the exams unwillingly or pay approximately 15-20k.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, there are scholarships availed by the meritorious students. It will be only applicable to students getting minimum required percentage for admission.

Campus Life

4

The facilities of this college are very good. There are many facilities like Wi-Fi and the internet speed is very good. The labs are also very good and latest technologies are used in the labs. Classrooms are very big. The library has thousands of books. It is one of the biggest libraries. In the case of medical emergencies, our college has an ambulance and many medical facilities are there.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes, the place and its surrounding environment are not too good but the institute provides you a good hostel. If you are really interested in your career building you can stay in a single room for the 4 years and can boost your career. You can have adjustments. The culture is a little bit different here. You may see it in the way they cook the food but still, you can make adjustments and complete your degree.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were quite helpful, as they shared all the information about the college and they provided us their notes also. The placements of the college this time weren't as good as compared to the seniors.

Exam Structure

The course is the same as other colleges as JIIT also follows a UGC approved curriculum. The teachers seem as if they teach the students only to make them pass the examination and not to impart the knowledge. This may be the reason the exam papers are quite easy compared to other colleges.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty members in our college are very good and all are PhDs and MTech. All of them are from NITs and IITs. They are really helpful in clarifying doubts. All the faculty members are knowledge persons only. The teaching methods are very good. In every class, a projector is must and it is very easy to understand.

The companies that visit consist of mondelez, Adani wilmar, zomato hyper pure, haldiram, loykaa, jubilent, baker's dozen, Lt foods, etc. The highest package goes up to 15 lakhs and average package is around 6-7 lakhs per annum.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are done in the final year. In the 7th semester, students have to go for a semester-long industrial training. Some students are offered pre-placement offers, and some sit for the placement process. The highest packages have gone upto 8 LPA-10 LPA, in quality/supply chain/management related roles. More than 10-15 companies visit, and almost all of the students get placed. I personally would like to go for higher studies.
