Remarks

Goa is itself India's favorite destination and studying in this state is the best part of my life. The research facility at this institute is very well known. Institute only accepts online application forms for the concerned course along with the payment of the application fee. A student needs to have a valid GATE score/ JRF score in the desired field and a masters' degree with a minimum of 60% to become eligible for a Ph.D.

Course Curriculum Overview

In the first year, we studied the theory part of the research. What all methods we will be required in conducting our research and the literature review. My guide assisted me a lot throughout my research work and formulating the research proposal. I conducted some fieldwork as well to support my research. Currently, I have submitted my thesis on the research topic and waiting for it to be approved.

Course Fees: INR 30000 per year

Placement Experience

I didn't sit for placements as I wanted to go for the post of Assistant professor here at the institute itself. In 2020, the highest CTC was recorded as Rs. 43 LPA, and a total of 121 companies participated in the placements. 87% of the students got placed in the general placements. Microsoft, Paytm, Reliance Jio, KPMG, L&T, LTTS, ARM, Intel, and VMware were the top recruiters of the placement week.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are provided to the students who need one since Rs.71000 can be a big amount for some students. Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for Top Class Education for SC students, Merit Cum Means Scholarship are the only two provided by the institute. The rest of the scholarships can be availed from the state government and central government as well for the minority sections of the society.

Campus Life

Life in Goa is very much happening and the same goes for campus life. Although, Ph.D. students find very little time after their research for leisure. The events organized at the campus are filled with fun and excitement. My group also went clubbing at night and we enjoyed it a lot. Amenities in the classroom and the infrastructure of the campus are top-notch. Labs are equipped with the latest equipment.

A University with a sprawling campus on the beach side

Remarks:

Since, I was working as a project assistant in National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa in 2013. I always wanted to register a PhD under my guide Dr. Pawan Dewangan (Principal scientist), who is in NIO. I qualified GATE in 2015 with a decent score and I was allowed to register for a PhD in Marine science department of Goa University. I decided to register in Goa University primarily because it was near to the place where I was working, also it is one of the finest and reputed universities in Goa. The campus is beautiful and well maintained and located near several beaches. Apart from this the administrative process is very smooth unlike other state universities. I never faced any difficulty to carry out the formalities, the concerned people are very helping and kind. The marine science department produces several PhD's each year and faculties are also reputed.

Trusted experience of Iit goa

Many students has the doubt of selecting best branch or college, I would say going for the branch yeah it's true that high collages have high placements but it's doesn't guarantee uhhh to get a job uhh must have the best knowledge so gain the best knowledge is best course instead of low branch and then doing other courses. IIT Goa Review

Completing engineering from IIT is like a dream come true for every engineering student. IITs not only provide good placement but learning and the exposure and opportunities that we get is unimaginable. I also wanted to be part of IIT and I really worked hard for the GATE exam but frankly speaking, I am an average student and my GATE score was between 755 to 860 according to me ad my preference is IIT Goa was the best option. To be part of IIT Goa I need to clear the GATE exam that I did and I should have a minimum of 55% marks. My academic qualification was according to IIT Goa.
