Entrance Preview
The college itself took an admission test. Those who qualified were called for interviews. The interview was conducted by the Management.I do not know how much I scored but i was called for the interview and I came out victorious. The college had a good facullty and infrastructure and the fee was not too high for a student of average middle class family like me.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was huge. The entire course was split into 4 semesters each of 6 months duration, but we got at an average a time period of only 4.5 months. This by itself proves how difficult it was to complete the syllabus. The college library was well equipped with books and it is worth telling that we purchased only a few books as almost all books were available in the library and that too in sufficient numbers. Overall we were satisfied with our college faculty as well as with the basic infrastructure.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies came, viz,Bharat Wagon a few Nationalised banks, and some local companies for Summer Internship. I got an opportunity in Bharat Wagons For my Summer Internship but no stipend was paid to me or my other batchmates. However the staffs were very co-operative and they coordinated with us in every possible ways to make the Internship a grand success. We learnt a lot about the practical application of our course.
College Events
Every year the college used to hold a 'Freshers Welcome'. The event was a grand event with lots of cultural programmes. It was the best time to initiate a very healthy relationship with our seniors. All types of raggings came to an end on this day. Apart from Freshers Welcome event the college on a regular basis held seminars where prominent business magnets were invited to share their experiences with us. We asked questions and they replied. These seminars proved to be very helpful in the future. Also quiz programmes were held on a regular basis.
Fee Structure And Facilities
One of the biggest advantages of this college was that the fee structure was very formidable. We had to pay only rs 1000 per month as tution fee as this was a bihar government sponsored college. The examination fee after every semsester was rs 500 only. A sum of rs 5000 had to be paid in the beginning as admission fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college did not avail any loan facility or good scholaships. However the University provided scholarship facility to the outstanding students and loan facility to the needy and economically poor students whose details i am unaware of.
Hostel Facilities
Unfortunately hostel facility was not available with the college. The University Hostel was never vacant. We had to arrange for our own lodging and fooding. We were batchmates sharing a rented house. The monthly rent was rs 800. We tied up with a lady who used to provide us our daily meal. This cost was around rs 1200 per month per head.
Exam Structure
At the end of a semester an exam was held which had to be qualified to go to the next semester. However if a candidate failed in atmost two subjects he was given an opportunity to give retests on those subjects along with the present semester papers. Apart from the semester exams comprehensive evaluation tests were taken on a regular basis. Time was too short for such hectic schedule but we had to manage.
Faculty
The faculty was excellent a group of highly trained and experienced professors. They were there to help us anytime and in all possible ways. The teacher-student relation was very warm and cordial. They were worth getting respects from us.
