Remarks
It one of the top ranking MBA institutes in India and the average salary package is also very high. Apart from that all the faculty are phDs with huge industry experience. The pedagogy is entirely case based so that the knowledge that students gain over here is not just theory based one but from real world as well. The 33 clubs in IBS with all their events, both educational and fun make sure that the students in the campus never get bored or miss out on an opportunity to showcase their talents. The college management is very really well established when it comes to handling all the lectures seamlessly for so many students, to make sure that all the club activities take place without ant hassle, and solving all the problems of the students.
Entrance Preview
I gave IBSAT entrance test, which is conducted by the ICFAI university itself in a national level. They don't tell you how much you score in your entrance examination. This test is to screen out unwanted candidates only. They will inform you once the results are out and you have passed the test. I opted for this college because it one of the top ranking MBA institutes in India and the average salary package is also very high. Apart from that all the faculty are phDs with huge industry experience. The pedagogy is entirely case based so that the knowledge that students gain over here is not just theory based one but from real world as well.
Course Curriculum Overview
The pedagogy is entirely case based so that the knowledge that students gain over here is not just theory one but from real world as well. The courses are very well structured and and books from international authors are prescribed, which are also used in IIMs. For research, there are many clubs that focus on research be it in marketing, HR, finance or operations. There is also a huge library with huge collection of reference books and research materials. One can contact the faculty at regular hours and even after regular hours on his/her personal cellphones. Coming to the electives, the institute provides marketing, finance and HR as electives for MBA. Apart from that one can opt for operations as well as a minor elective.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the institute does provide internship to all students. But if a student is interested in generating his/her own internship then he/she is free to do so. Stipend varies from company to company. The average stipend is about 8 thousand. The overall experience of the internship was really very good and was something new because one gets to see how the industry works and how all the theories that they have learned are used in the real world.
Placement Experience
The institute provides close to 96% jobs last year. Out of 815 who opted for placement for the batch of 2015, 96% of them were placed with an average package of 6 lakhs and highest package of 37 lakhs. Some prominent recruiters are Amazon, DE Shaw, ICICI Bank, TCS, Ford Business Services, ITC Hotels, etc.
College Events
Aaveg- It is the inter college sports event of IBS. Institutes from across the nation come to participate in this event.Trishna- It is the annual fest of IBS. It is also participated by many institutes across the country. All the clubs of IBS hold their major events on this day, which is participated by many students. After all the club events get over, DJ night takes place and makes sure everyone enjoyed after participating in the club events. Apart from these two events, the 33 clubs in IBS make sure that events happen in the campus in almost a daily basis.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for my batch was around 15 lakhs for the entire two years, which covers food, lodging and textbooks as well. I would say that the fee structure is not that expensive, because a student after passing out can easily pay for it after getting placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are plenty of options for availing loan in the college, but I am not quite sure as I didn't go for it. Meritorious students are awarded with scholarship as well.
Campus Life
The gender ratio in the college is quite balanced, and people from all over the country come to study here. There is no bias in the campus with respect to someone's gender, ethnicity, race, religion, economic status or sexual orientation. If anybody faces discrimination then he /she can approach the hostel warden without any hesitation. The 33 clubs in IBS with all their events, both educational and fun make sure that the students in the campus never get bored or miss out on an opportunity to showcase their talents.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are not on sharing basis, and also there is no shortages of hostel rooms because it is a residential program so they have to provide lodging facility to all the students. The rooms are of quite decent size, and are very neat and clean.
Alumni/Alumna
IBS hold many events for the alumni as well. It is done to make sure that the new batch is well aware of what is in there for them in the futute by none other than the alumni itself The alumni not only guide the students about how to approach the curriculum, but also give an insight as to how the industry works.
Exam Structure
Exams are not that frequent in IBS, there are three NCPs( internals), one main exam and three CPs(Class Participation). The NCPs are multiple choice questions that are conducted online in labs. The CPs are conducted during the class itself by the respective subject faculty. It is neither very hectic, nor very chilled out in IBS. There is a complete balance in everything that is done here.
Faculty
All the faculty are phDs with huge industry experience. They are very motivated when it comes to teaching and clearing student's doubts. One can contact the faculty at regular hours and even after regular hours on his/her personal cellphones. The faculty of the college also participate in all club events, and different senior faculty are allotted to different clubs as the head of the club. This is done to ensure that the faculty has an understanding of the students' current standing as an MBA and it also helps in building a friendly relation between the students and the faculty, so that the students can openly clear their doubts.
