IIT Jodhpur - One of the top IITs

Coming from an IITian family, i was also brought up in the manner to continue this legacy. One can say becoming an engineer was in my blood. I aimed for IIT Jodhpur from the start since i founded the campus very fascinating and the courses provided here are taught with the latest resources. After my result of the GATE exam, i applied for the M.Tech course online and paid an admission fee of Rs. 3300.

My first year went very well here. We are assigned a whole lot of projects in the lab over the span of a few months. Professors encouraged us to focus our minds on the next generation's development techniques. 80% of our course constituted of practicals. Faculty members of our department were some of the eminent scientists who worked on great projects in their professional careers.

In the field of Bioscience, the batch strength is less but each student gets placed in one or more than one company. 83% of the students got placed in some great firms. The highest CTC was Rs. 45 LPA. 50 companies visited the campus and some of them were: ISRO, Bharat Petroleum, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Capgemini, Havells,HCL, 1MG, MAQ Software, Crisil, Honda, Zycus, DRDO, Bank of Baroda, Coal India Ltd.

Rs. 1.32 lakhs is an affordable amount for my family. There is only one scholarship available for the students of IIT Jodhpur - Merit cum Means scholarship. The eligibility criteria for this scholarship is different for General and SC/ST students. Form filling for this one is different from the admission fee. Students can also apply for monetary assistance from banks or any other financial institutions.

The campus has state of the art classrooms equipped with projectors and a smart screen. Viasat – the SPICMACAY festival, IGNUS- Institute`s National level annual techno-cultural-social festival are the two major events for which the entire student body waits. Competitions, games, music and whatnot, each student and faculty member enjoys them. I gained a lot of confidence through these and made a lot of friends.
