I had given MAT as well CAT exam. Although My MAT exam marks were decent enough and I was eligible to apply for Doon Business School. My academic scores were also decent to get me admitted into this college. I gave a GD and PI round for selection.
Course Curriculum Overview
If we consider the faculty members of this college then, I would give a 10 on 10 stars. The teachers are always willing to help even after their teaching period. They are open to giving real corporate life-like challenges to their students. The teachers themselves have a long list of experiences in different big industries so they are always teaching and explaining real-life experiences. Some teachers in DBS are more like a guide to life. The curriculum especially in PGDM considers more real-life practice lessons. We are exposed to industry experiences, corporate structures, and whatnot. The course teaches what a good manager should know and implement.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are provided by the college itself and there are more than 150+ companies recruiting students for different internship roles. There are also teachers who guide with the process and they also help the students to get the best company suited to their profile. One has to make a project on a particular topic while doing the internship program. Students are also provided with mentors who guide them to perform best in their companies.
Placement Experience
Doon Business School gives great opportunities to the students to get placed in the best of the companies like - Aditya Birla, DBS Bank, ANZ Bank, HCL, ICICI BANK, ICICI Prudential, Wipro, Infosys, Zara, Decathlon, etc. I myself have been placed in HCL and I thank Doon Business School which provided me with such an opportunity to be a part of one of the best companies around the world.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is decent. It is very favorable for any middle-class parent to afford the course as well as the experience they incur while studying MBA or PGDM program. There is a number of scholarships for female students, CAT scorers as well as students with a domicile of Uttrakhand.
Campus Life
Life on campus is totally worth it. There are many clubs like Marketing club, sports club, wellness club, public speaking, etc. One can enjoy the serene view of mountains while focusing on their studies. There are many programs to keep the students' energy high, one of the most awaited ones is - the Man Fest. There are two huge libraries on the campus, equipped with almost every type of book one may want to read. Every day, newspapers are distributed to the students and are also available in the library. The campus is huge and has different sporting activities like - table tennis, basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, etc.
Interview Experience
My topic for PI was why do you choose DBS? And my PI question was Do deadlines destroy creativity?. I really enjoyed the process although I was nervous still performed well. I had to write down the answer to the PI question and then submit it to the given coordinator. Then after submitting, I was cross-questioned related to the answers which I gave.
