Remarks

The course eligibility is a very simple process. If you have passed your higher secondary exam from any background like science arts or commerce you can apply for English honors. Your HS marks should be a minimum 50% to be eligible. The application form is in the college official website and the entire process is through online. They create merit list based on the HS marks as well as Madhyamik exam marks. For HS they will see the best of 4 subjects marks and the marks you have got in English. Thus they will publish a merit list. More marks you have got the higher chance of being admitted here. Yes, reservation seats are available. Overall 35-40 seats are for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Offline verification is very much time-consuming in the admission process

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have chosen this course because I am good at English and I have got the highest marks in English in HS. In the future, I want to be a teacher or professor of English. We have approximately 100 students in the English department and we had a total of 7 professors. So the student-faculty ratio is slightly bad. It is around 14 students per 1 faculty. Our faculties have done Ph.D. or M.Phil. They are highly qualified, no doubt in this. Most important our HOD and assistant professors are very student-friendly. Their teaching method is very simple. They have taken regular classes and many extra classes. They are very communicative, adaptable, and dedicated to teaching us. We had one main exam every year. Because in our time, the system was 1+1+1. The exams were difficult if you don't study.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are very low. It is affordable for everyone. Our admission fee was only 2000. For the next two years before the exam, the fee is around 1500. There is no additional cost of studying. The University registration fee is 350. So the total cost of studying is under 6000. Now if you study in private tuition the cost will be very high. You can avail many scholarships both government & private. For SVMCM scholarships you will get 15000 per year and to renew this scholarship you must have 60% marks every year. Girls students can apply for (Kanyashree)K2 scholarships. SC/ST/OBC students can apply for OASIS scholarships.

Campus Life

3

We have very few festivals and cultural programs are celebrated all around the year. The most famous festivals in our college are Saraswati Puja and teacher's day. We did not receive any fresher's welcome and we did not have any annual cultural programs in our 3 years. The good thing about our college is that we have a very good library in our college. We have an air-conditioned study room and various different books available here. We have our department library too. We do not have any campus our college is situated right behind Taki Road. We have a hostel facility for outsider's student

Who gets admitted in which course is completely a personal matter. No matter which course one gets admitted in, studies are good in all the courses. There are many experienced teachers in this college. Exam time is 3 hours. Teachers always help students in their studies.

I want to know bengali literature and all type of poems and proses that's why I choose B.a. in bengali literature. According to me, my course helps me in doing Masters in Bengali. From the point of view of improvements, I feel that digital classes can be conducted in the class by leaving the theory classes. Mere collage The exam level is basically hard and exams are conducted twice a year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always wanted to persue English as a career. I love studying English but not a big fan of the new curriculum by NEP that includes a lot pf irrelevant papers. The semesters are not consistent. Odd semesters usually have a lot of time like 6-8 months but even semesters barely consist of 2-3 months.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We were held a class for upto 1hrs, thus we had 4 class a day. Sometimes it is boaring sometimes it becomes striking, it depends on the mood. It is to say little knowledge is a dangerous thing, if you don't read you cannot pass the semester examination. Although it will provide you a second chance. But with change of syllabus the exam pattern also change. You need to attain a total percentage of 75(%) to maintain you honours subject otherwise you would be regarded as programme course student.
