Remarks

This college comes under the ministry of social justice and empowerment and is affiliated with Delhi University. There is a separate entrance exam for admission to this college. Anyone with PCB in 11/12th can give this entrance exam. The details, schedule for the exam and counseling dates are updated on the official website of the college i.e- www.iphnewdelhi.in. The syllabus of the entrance is the same as that of NEET. For BPT, you have to have physics, chemistry, and biology in your higher secondary class.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

A college is a great place for those with the aim to become physiotherapists. The curriculum has most of the medical subjects like anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, biochemistry, etc. Along with these, it has many mechanical subjects like biomechanics and exercises therapy. The overall curriculum is good and the faculty of the college is great being highly knowledgeable. There is different faculty for every subject who is specialized in that particular subject. The faculty members provide great information along with great practical insights since they also treat patients in the OPD of the college. This also helps to get good practical knowledge in the college itself. The schedule for exams come around1-2 month in advance and it requires great knowledge to clear them, still can be easily done with a bit of regularity in studies.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college provides internships after a 4-year course, for about 6 months along with a stipend. The students are posted in good government as well as private hospitals in Delhi which help in the enhancement of their skills. The postings are about in 3-4 different hospitals and departments.

Placement Experience

3

The placements through college after BPT are limited. But after learning good practices during clinical hours in the college and internship, one can work under any other physiotherapist, and later on, can open up their own clinic. Also, to enhance their skills, one can always opt for master's in many fields like orthopedic, sports PT, etc, and earn well after that.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a government college, the fees for a year is around 26000/- including tuition, cultural, and sports fees. Also, there are different scholarship benefits for students with different castes. There is a stipend during the internship provided by the college for 6 months. Also, placements are also there through college.

Campus Life

2.5

Being a professional college doesn't provide a campus life like any normal DU college, but it gives a professional environment. Also, there is no such particular fest of the college, but students from this college can attend the fest of any other college on the student ID. The library of this college is huge which offers almost all the books from different authors for all the academic subjects. You can study easily from the library books. The classrooms are big and spacious and air-conditioned. The teachers mostly teach through projectors. There is no such extracurricular activites in the college officially, but being a professional college, students meet up and create their own events at a small scale.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum initially provides all the theoretical and practical knowledge side by side. As in first year classes are held in University college of medical science so practical we got demonstration of human anatomy on cadavers . And the subsequent 2nd, 3rd and 4th year classes are held in Amar Jyoti as the syllabus of these years provide you proper insights of your field Side by side in 3rd and 4th year we do clinical postings in different hospitals and in Amar Jyoti where we see real world applications i.e. hands on patients under the guidance of senior physiotherapist who are our professors also. First year is quite tough compare with other years as overall syllabus is just same as of MBBS . Areas of improvement - should be in syllabus I think as in first year we were somewhat clueless about our real role in PT as there were no PT specific subjects .

Student's become eligible from 4th year only for the campus placements. It's not the companies or the hospitals that visits for placement it's the NGO's and all that comes and provide basic salaries to students. Highest packages can go upto - 1200000 per annum or average to 400000 per annum. 70-80% students get's placements and other starts there home visits or own clinic. My plans is to work for 2 year in any hospital in india and then move to dubai for future opportunities.
