Remarks

I took the NMAT exam and scored 210 scores, the cut-off was 180 for the 2021-23 MBA Pharma batch. A total of 1200 students were given the final shortlist out of which approximately 580 students joined NMIMS, Mumbai for MBA. The MBA Pharma batch size was 120 students. The application form and other details could be found on the official website of NMIMS. I did not avail of any reservation benefits.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose MBA in Pharmaceutical Management. The faculty-student ratio is close to 1:20 Faculties mostly hold doctorate degrees in their specific domains. Few of them are industry experts as well. Also, we have 6 trimesters in 2 years, exams are held for all the 6 trimesters. The difficulty level for exams is moderate. Guest lectures are also conducted by experts from pharmaceutical companies. Our assignments generally involve talking to pharma industry experts and preparing a report/ppt. We also meet various stakeholders like chemists, doctors every Wednesday and take a survey.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are a lot of internship opportunities available. Proper placements are held. The maximum stipend goes to 10,000-50,000/- per month. Companies offer roles like market research, sales, brand marketing. Same companies like the final ones visit the campus. Big pharma companies like GSK, Zeus, Novartis, Micro labs visit the campus

Placement Experience

3

The placements are really good. Last year the average package was 2 Lakhs. It is bound to go up this year. The maximum package goes close to 17 lakhs. Almost 100% batch gets placed in NMIMS. I am also planning to get placed in a Marketing company. For summer placements the stipend varies between 10,000-50,000/-

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for me i.e. for batch 2021-23 is 6 lakhs per year. The fee is more than normal colleges indeed but could be compensated with good packages from companies. The fee is hiked almost every year at NMIMS, but you can get loans easily by the name of NMIMS only. There are some scholarship opportunities available for students with an annual family income of 8 lakhs but come with a lot of conditions as well. Scholarships are also available for government employees.

Campus Life

5

Pharma dept has their committees too like Tejomaya, placecomm, and alumni. The placecom committee looks after the entire placement process of students. Tejomaya- the cultural committee organizes various fun events. The Alumni committee brings alumni from previous years to talk on interesting topics. The books were sent by post to us and library access is given online. Apart from pharma committees, we can also take part in MBA Core committees. We have been attending college online.

Interview Experience

5

There was a written test i.e. WAT after the NMAT exam shortlisting. I went through a PI as well. PI questions were related to normal hygiene questions and current happenings in the pharmaceutical industry. My panel had two professors and they made me feel comfortable throughout the process. Overall it was a great experience

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Students become eligible for placements after completing 2nd semester and entering in 3rd semester. Attendance is compulsory for getting the opportunity for placements. The companies like IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank, Property pistol, Godrej Capital are available for placements. The highest paid package is 9.75 for sales and marketing. Till now( 3rd semester) 60% to 70% students are placed. There are more opportunities for sales and marketing as compared to other fields.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.
