Riju De's Review On IIT Bombay - Indian Institute Of Technology - [IITB], Mumbai

IIT Bombay is India's top ranked prestigious institution. It's a brand. And basically I was looking to pursue research in the area of process control and optimization of Chemical Processes. The automation lab in IIT Bombay's Department of Chemical Engineering is country's best institution with amazing research facilities.

The course content was of top class quality as desired to build the basic fundamentals in core pg level Chemical Engineering courses. Academics wise excellently designed semesters. Faculties were really high class as almost majority of them had their degrees from very reputed universities in U. S. Most of them are high quality and reknown researchers worldwide.

Placements occur at a good rate every year. Mostly above 90% of the students get placed in top class companies like Google, Indian Oil, Reliance, Shell, Tata Steel etc. Late former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar was a noted alumni of IITB.

If there is a place where innovative extracurricular activities flourish, it has to be only IIT Bombay. Mood Indigo-the cultural fest of IITB is Asia's largest technical College festival. Mostly the bollywood celebrities including filmstars, singers, lyricists and dancers are invited every year to judge this event. There are lots of other cultural clubs such as dance, music, arts, photography, lifestyle and many more. These have their own events organised every semester. Students across the whoke world and country come to participate in these events.

I was offered the Teaching Assistant position funded by Ministry if Human Resource Development at IIT Bombay.

Excellent. IIT Bombay gives the best platform and experience in terms of super class infrastructure. 24 hrs high speed internet, the central library is three storeyed and one of the country's famous. All the laboratories are equipped with high quality instruments and supercomputers desired for performing quality research.
