Remarks

I gave quite a few private institute entrance exams and got good ranks in them, SRM being one of them. Since SRM was situated in the Southern part of India and we had heard good reviews and also because it is the top private university in India and offers good placements, hence chose this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum and academics are great. Faculties could be improved and given better training. Since it's in the southern India, there are ample times when faculties are partial towards south indian students and tend to not help north Indians at all. But that's only some faculties, so it's not an issue over all. Also, lots of North Indian students are on campus, so you tend to feel at home, even though you are from a different part of India.

Placement Experience

The job opportunities are great. Pretty high profile companies like Cisco, SAP, HPE and other visit the campus. The alumni networking for job referrals is not that great from my point of view. There might be many startups started by SRM students but I don't recall any as of now.

College Events

There are a lot of technical, cultural inter and intra college events happening on the campus that too on a very huge scale. Participation in them strictly depends on your talent. But over all the events have a lot of scope and encourage participation from students of all years.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, students who perform good and become university toppers for a certain semester get scholarship amount of somewhere around Rs. 25000. This is the amount given to the third topper. I am sure the first and second topper would receive more.

Campus Life

All the facilities are present. Wifi is present for the hostel as well as labs. Ample sports grounds available. Equipments in labs are hi-tech and of recent technology. Libraries have books from all genres, mostly technical.

Hostel Facilities

The girls hostel didn't have AC, which ia a requirement in Chennai. And the infrastructure wasn't that great too. There are ample hostel seats available. People can choose between four, three, two sharing and a single room as well. Availing the hostel facility is a very smooth process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the southern indian most famous chemical company is there in our circle and other chemicals companies are there. other then this reason I like the chemistry subject and exciting to learn. In our chemistry department teacher give good preparation for the semester exams. My point of view the exams are easy to write excepting only few subjects.

Is VIT worth it

Placement Experience:

Placements in VIT UNIVERSITY is very good the average package is 8 lakhs and the Highest may go upto 1 crore every year.There is a separate placement cell in VIT chennai and they give you placement training from start of the third year. Many multinational companies like google, microsoft etc comes to VIT to pick students for their company. Almost 98 percent of the students gets places in VIT. After my degree I choose to sit for placements.

Brutally Honest College Review

Placement Experience:

The placement process begins from the third year i.e. the fifth and sixth sem. But be warned the placement is pure dabba. The companies that visited are goldman sachs, pick your trail, venture lts, greenbay, taj, audible, TCS, etc. the package varies from 3.4 LPA to 12 LPA. These are just peanut money btw. The college says there's 100% placements ( joke of the century) but in reality only 70% gets placed. I plan to do MBA from a different college.

SRMIST is superb in all sense!!

I applied at PDEU, Gandhinagar and SRMIST and both colleges admissions were almost done but since my family is from Chennai, we al decided to stay close to home atleast for UG.
