MNNIT - My experience

I applied here mainly because it has a rich history of providing excellent learning opportunities for over 30 years. I registered for the selection process by filling in the online application form available on the website. I had to attach several supporting documents like CAT scorecard, mark sheets and certificates, work experience certificates, ID proof etc. The application fee was Rs 1200.

The faculty consists of some of the most talented individuals from all over the country. Because of the small class size, they are actually able to attend to all of us and we have a friendly and immersive learning atmosphere. The curriculum is dynamic and constantly updated to keep up with the evolving market. It also enabled us to gain a solid foundation in the basics of business management.

The University offers a 6-8 week of summer internship where we can acquire professional experience. I got the opportunity to do an unpaid internship with the marketing department at Nestle while working here. It proved to be a very valuable experience for me.

The University has maintained a very satisfactory placement rate since it's inception. Almost 90% of my classmates including me got job offers through the campus placement Drive. Some of the top recruiters are Byju's, Tata Group, ITC Ltd, Vodafone, HDFC, Axis Bank, Berger paints, ICICI Bank, Amazon, Google, etc. The average CTC offered was around Rs 8 - 9 LPA.

The total fee amount for my program was around Rs 1,80,000 approximately. But I paid this fee in instalments of Rs 43,000 at the start of each term. However, in the first semester only, I had to pay around Rs 48,000. The University also offers financial assistance in only very special cases.

As far as campus life is concerned, ours mainly consisted of cultural programs like music, dance and Plays on special occasions and before the start of festivals. We also had an annual sports meet where the whole University participated.

The hostel rooms were clean and comfortable and all the amenities were provided for. Housekeeping and cleaning is done on a daily basis which is really great. The common washrooms are also well maintained. The hostel fee was included with the tuition fee amount but I had to pay separately for mess which was around Rs 20000.

After applying, I was shortlisted based on my CAT scores and past academic performance. I had to appear for the GD and personal interview round. To prepare for this round, I went through the current affairs section extensively for the few days.
