NMIMS 360 degree review

I gave NMAT exam in the Year 2020, I scored 261 in my second attempt. The overall exam cutoff was 235 with sectional cutoff of 76 in QA, LR, Verbal. The admission process was smooth and I gave exam from home, the interface was good and did not face any technical issues. The application related details were available on the NMAT by GMAC and NMIMS website.

Since I had a background of Commerce and i graduated with a degree of BBA, I believe MBA was the best fit for me and it provides better work opportunities. In NMIMS the faculty for some subjects are exceptionally qualified and have served the position of CXOs, whereas other have completed their PhD. from top educational institutes in India and abroad. Since the overall course is highly application oriented, much learning happens during the discussion that take place in the class. The exams are of moderate to high level.

Just like the final placements, NMIMS is known to provide some of the best internship opportunities in India. The highest internship stipend is around 3 lakhs for just two months. One of the best thing is that many companies offer PPO to the deserving students. The corporate projects offered by the college help the students learn which can be helpful even during final placements.

There is 100% placement for sure and that is very much true. Some of the companies surely provide top roles and currently the average package is around 18 lakhs, although one should keep in mind that this is the CTC and not just the base cash component. The fixed cash component varies from company to company. NMIMS is known to offer some of the best leadership roles in the domain of Marketing, Finance, Operations, General Management. The college strives to bring new companies to campus every year along with the loyal recruiters too.

No doubt NMIMS is one of the most expensive college in India, the major drawback is that it does not provide a hostel. The current fees is around 11lakhs per year and considering that there is an yearly hike, probably the fees will increase next year too. But on a positive side, NMIMS has tie ups with different banks from where you can take loans at cheaper rates. The jobs provided by the college helps the students in recovering the loans rapidly.

Since my college began in the online mode, I could only tell about the Virtual Experience. Most of the extra curricular activities were conducted online including the orientation sessions. Various clubs and committee carried out their selection processes online and they conducted various workshops which are really beneficial. Although the first two trimesters of your college will make you work really hard even during the weekends, but once you get the hang of online classes and MBA you can easily sail through it. The cultural festival, Euphoria is the highlight of the college. It gives an opportunity to the students who are not part of any cell to participate and enjoy the events thoroughly. Being a part of my music club, I can say that virtual MBA can also be made fun and interesting.

The process had 3 main parts. The first one is obviously the NMAT exam which you will have to clear. The pattern is adaptive as similar to the GMAT exam. The next phase includes a written ability test and the personal interview. Much of your selection depends upon the Interview. Another important thing is that the students have to submit a Statement of Purpose which is duly evaluated by the Panelists. The PI mostly revolves around the current affairs and understanding my background. I had prepared for these rounds by giving mock PIs.
