Remarks

The admission process was pretty well. You don't have to clear any entrance exam for GCT. In case, you are a non-Tamilnadu student you have to clear JEE exam for engineering to enter GCT. There will be SC, ST, OBC reservations in the counseling process.

Course Curriculum Overview

3 Unit tests will be there for each semester.20-30 days gap is there between unit rests. Moderate difficulty in some subjects to pass. Otherwise, every unit test was quite easy. You have to score well in unit tests in order to get a good CGPA.

Internships Opportunities

There are a lot of companies that offer some good internships with a maximum of 10,000 stipends. Third-year students are also eligible to apply for internships in some departments. For final year projects, you can work outside industries or institutions.

Placement Experience

I've studied B.Tech Industrial Biotechnology. Then I have cleared GAT B. Now I'm studying M.Tech in Marine Biotechnology at the National Centre of Aquatic animal health. Most of my classmates were placed in well-deserved companies. IT/CSE/ ECE placements are better than other departments. That they achieve 100% placements every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a lot of benefits and scholarships when you study here. Financial assistance details: 1. Bc/MBC scholarship - 9500 / yr for Non-first graduates. 7500 / yr for FG. 2. Alumni scholarship- 5000/yr 3.SC/ST - 20k-25k /yr 4. siemens scholarship (?45000)with internship facility for circuit department students.

Campus Life

A lot of clubs which have been students are there. Some of the clubs which I have known. 1. Tamil mandram 2.Fine arts for artistic people 3. Rotaract GCT 4. Student Journalist Council GCT for journalism 5. Literary and Debating Society 6. AAC 7. YRC 8. NSS 9. Green club 10.YCS 11.IEEE.

Hostel Facilities

The accommodation was good in some hostels. The food was not so good. I paid 2000 per month for food and 6500 for the hostel per year. Outside hostels are available but fees are more than gct hostels. Every Middle-class family can afford gct hostel.

A detailed review on GCT Coimbatore - Most affordable college of Asia.

In the admission process i applied only for government colleges like anna university chennai, gct coimbatore, gce salem, thiagaraja college madurai like that. Because i cant afford private college, among these government colleges gct coimbatore remains my first choice and got the admission in there. The main reason of choosing this college is affordable fee structure and good placement statistics. The admission process for government colleges are purely through Counselling process, there is no management quota. Based on our 12 th mark, a cutoff for 200 marks will be calculated. In this 100 marks from maths and 50 from physics and 50 from chemistry will be accounted. Then a rank list will be released based on this cutoff mark incl all applicants, it is called general rank list. There will be other rank list like community rank list where the rank will be grouped by community such as BC, MBC, SC/ST. Every college will release a seat matrix based upon their vacancy. Student have to fill a choice list based on their interest. And based on the rank, the software will check the vacancy for seats in the choice order and finally college is alloted.
