Remarks

Eligibility is based on the marks of higher secondary exam. The merit list was created by the best of four subject marks in my HS exam. Application fees is around 1600 rs. And for 2nd year and 3rd year college fees is around 1500. Total college fees is under 5500 Good marks needed for the subject you are taking honours. I found college application form in their official college website. College application form notices are hoben in their website. There is around 80-100 seats capacity. And of course reservation is available.

Course Curriculum Overview

My dream is to become professor of English that's why I have taken this. When I admitted there were 5 faculties but later one processor transferred. So student-professor ratio is one professor per 20 student. Processor were very good. They take regular class. We were 1+1+1 student. So we had only one final exam in every year. We had to score above 35% to pass the exam. It was neither easy nor difficult

Fees and Financial Aid

Cost of study is very low. Overall cost per year is below 3500 rs. There is no extra fees for cultural program. Fees don't increase in general. If you get above 55% you get Swami Vivekananda scholarship. And you get some extra money if you have OBC/SC/ST certificate. There is no campusing opportunity in our college. And there is no special financial assistance for poor people in our college

Campus Life

Yes in our college fest was organiged every year. There was also sports activity. We had a small playground in college. And in front of college there is big ground. Classrooms are good and clean. There is union in our college. But they solve student problem .

I want to know bengali literature and all type of poems and proses that's why I choose B.a. in bengali literature. According to me, my course helps me in doing Masters in Bengali. From the point of view of improvements, I feel that digital classes can be conducted in the class by leaving the theory classes. Mere collage The exam level is basically hard and exams are conducted twice a year.

We were held a class for upto 1hrs, thus we had 4 class a day. Sometimes it is boaring sometimes it becomes striking, it depends on the mood. It is to say little knowledge is a dangerous thing, if you don't read you cannot pass the semester examination. Although it will provide you a second chance. But with change of syllabus the exam pattern also change. You need to attain a total percentage of 75(%) to maintain you honours subject otherwise you would be regarded as programme course student.

Presidency University: A hope of light but needs a lot of upgradation

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Department of Bengali is one of the oldest Bengali department in the state. It offers undergraduate honours and postgraduate courses. Recently, they have started PhD courses as well. The Bengali department is actively engaged in research in hot topics in literature. The curriculam of Presidency university is most diverse among all other University, colleges in the state. It begins with very basic topics at the first year and ends with very specific research level papers at the final year. The syllabus is so advance that bachelors students can compare themselves with the masters level students after completeing the course. I will mention the bachelor course curriculam in summary: Semester I- Prachin Bangla Sahitya O Bangalir Itihas sandhan, Bangla bhasar itihas o bhasatotto, Semester II- Prak chaitanya juger bangla sahityer itihas, Madhyajuger bangla sahityer itihas o kabyapath, Semester III- Shorosh o soptodosh shotabdir samaj: itihas o chaitanyadeb, Ashtadosh shatabdir samaj sangkriti, changa-alanlkar o prof sangsodhan, Semester IV- Adhunik juger udbhab, gadya o probondho sahitya, kabya-kabitae itihas, natoker itihas o rupbhed, Semester V- Bangla Upanyas, Bangla chotogolpo, Rabindranath, Semester VI- Unish o Bish shataker bangla samaj songskriti o sahitya, bhinna bhasar sahityer itihas o tar obhighat, bharatiya alangkar shatra, sahitya o shilpo. Other than these compulsory courses, there are lot of exceptional elective courses that attracted me more towards joining this prestigious university. Since Presidency University select specific students through their difficult entrance tests, the semester exams should not be difficult for the students, but there are some papers in the course which needs to delt with extra care and attention to get extra marks.

I wouldn't eliminate content without background we cannot form good, rational and educated conclusions. We still giving timed tests.

For the BA General course, you have to pass the West Bengal higher secondary exam with a minimum of 45% marks in class 12. Admission is based on the marks. So 45% marks will not be enough. If you want to study here you have to get a minimum of 60% marks. A lot of seats are available but a lot of students apply every year. More numbers you get in your class 12 marks more chance to appear in merit lists. If you belong to a minority like SC/ST/OBC you have some seats reserved. One more thing supposes if you take geography history & Sanskrit as a general subject you must have these subjects in class 12. The admission form is on our college website. Once you appear on the merit list you have to pay the admission fee which is around Rs 2500 and offline document verification is needed....Read More

If you want to study BA pass course here the eligibility criteria are very simple. You have to get a minimum of 70% marks in your west Bengal higher secondary final exam. And admission process is directly based on your 12 mark. If you get good marks you will get admission very easily. You can choose the subject while opting for this BA general course. In my case, I have taken Bengali, History & Sanskrit because I had good marks on those subjects in my 12th exam. The application form is completely online. The official website of our college is www.basirhatcollege.org You have to fill up the form with the 10th 12th mark sheet and admit card and many other documents and after the merit list is published you have to pay the fees. The course eligibility is you have to pass the West Bengal higher secondary exam with a good percentage. We can find the application form on the Basirhat College official website. We have to fill up the application form with class 10th & 12th marks with all other necessary documents. You can choose the subject you want to take.
