I pursued diploma in chemical engineering and had scored 81% in my final year, so I got admission into this college. Because it comes among st top 5 colleges for chemical engineering in Mumbai.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is more theoretical based than research based. So if you are expecting to do a Phd in future, you shouldn't join this college, as lab facilities for research aren't that good. Hence for chemical engineering go for ICT or IIT, if you are interested in doing research.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides internship to hardly a few number of students in the class like 5%. the stipend is around 1000-10000, depending on the company.
Placement Experience
The placements and job opportunities varies from faculty to faculty. For chemical engineering the placement was around 20 % during my year i.e 2015. The companies which had come was Jacobs, Aker solutions, ICB Tecnimont, HUL, TCS, Capgemini, E&Y. The avg package was 3.2 lacs per anum.
College Events
There are many event and workshops happening throughout the year. It helps a lot in understanding the practical aspects. You also get to learn managerial skills while being a part of the committee member of the organising team. The cultural events are very big which hosts inter college dance and fashion show competition. It also hosts many national level technical fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is expensive compare to other colleges in Mumbai. But it is worth it, because the college provides good facilities to the students in all terms like free wifi, library, gymkhana, etc. The fees changes every year exponentially by around RS 8000. The fees for the year 2015 was Rs 1,30000.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college doesn't offer any scholarships. But they keep you informed about the scholarships provided outside the college like tata scholarship, Narotam seksharia scholarship, etc. And they also help you with the documentation work.
Campus Life
The college hosts a cultural fest " TRINITY" in march which consists of 3 day long fest having musical concert, dance, fashion show and fun filled events. In addition to that college also hosts sports day and a cricket tournament. The college doesn't have a campus, but the infrastructure is very good. the gender ratio is 40:60 i.e Female: Male.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is very strong and very helpful. We have regular alumni meets, where people meet and hare their experiences about futre prospects of chemical engineering.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is as per the Mumbai university, It doesn't have its own structure. But the labs were pretty chilled out, though sometimes it was very hectic. The labs sessions are very good to get the practical knowledge in the particular subject.
Admission
It was an offline admission process ( Direct Second year admission, as I have done Diploma). Firstly we have to fill application form ( begins in July). Then admission process happens in one day in August. The students are called on the merit basis to the college on a particular day and offered admission on merit basis. The process is quite easy.
Faculty
The few of the college faculties is really very good in terms of theoretical as well as practical knowledge. They help us a lot in all aspects at any point of time. But there are very few Phd faculties in the college. But in the whole department there are 3-4 very good faculties, who has a great depth of knowledge in their respective fields, the standards are high of such faculty members.
