Remarks

The admission process is merit-based. The college doesn't take any entrance examination but 10+2 result is important here. Eligibility criteria are minimum 45-50%marks in admission in general course and 70-75% to take honours courses. To get the Application form visit www.pdwomanscollege.in Reservation students(SC/ST/PWD) need a minimum of 40% marks in the general courses and 65% for the honours courses.

The difficulty level of the exams are high. Students get very tense during exam times. Pd women's college is undoubtedly a good choice. But the teachers of the university don't give good marks in the exams.

Getting placement depends on the percentage and also the performance of the students. Maybe they required 75-80%. After getting the degree I will either go for Higher education like MSc in zoology, botany, biochemistry or etc.

The fees structure of the college is very affordable. The college is the government so that The college & exam fees are very low as compared to private colleges. The college provides so many government scholarships like kannyasree, Vivekananda scholarship, Minority scholarship, etc.

Campus Life

Because of the lockdown, we went to college very few times. The campus life is very beautiful. There are many kinds of books available in the library. There are many functions held on the college campus too.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.

Placement Experience:

Our college has a very active placement cell that fetches jobs for everyone who needs and deserve it. The highest package was 24 lacs per annum last year and it is only expected to go up this round almost all students to set for placements are placed but in my department specifically most opt for higher studies like myself.

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements. The highest packages could surpass 12-13 LPA and median packages are close to 6-7 LPA. DE Shaw, Zomato, Myntra, Meesho, TCS and McKinsey are some top companies coming here.
