IMS - A memorable experience

IIM is famous for its technical courses. The admission process stated that you need to clear J.E.T (Joint Entrance Test) conducted by IIM and have at least 50% in 12th standard. I applied in the general category and got selected.

In 11th and 12th, I had Information practices as an optional subject which got me going further in this field. In IMS, we were taught with the latest tech devices installed with latest software. Teaching Method of the professors was also good. Faculty : Student ratio was 1:60, thus ensuring attention to slow learners of the class. Exams were conducted on a timely basis and the level of difficulty was nominal.

Every year, summer training program is held and a lot of companies participate in it. In the technical field, companies that participated were CVowl, Wits digital, Hundred Plus, Fever 104 FM (HT Media) and Edunomics. Both paid and unpaid internships were included in this program. Roles were offered like Graphic Designer, Video Making and Editing, PHP Developer.

Placements of IIM are good. 90% of the students got placed in my batch. Top recruiters who participated in the drive were Adobe, Amazon, Bajaj Finserv , HDFC Bank , Info Edge (India) Ltd. , Jaro Education , Naukri Com , Pearson , Raymonds. Highest CTC offered to the deserving candidates was of Rs.10 LPA. Profiles offered were of Associate Analyst, Software Developer, FQA Tester, Technical Editor.

A lot of cultural events were organized in the campus. I am not a very social person, so I attended very few of them but the ones I attended were awesome. Celebrities also came in IIM for their movie promotions or for guest lectures. Seminars and workshops were organized from time to time.

The entire cost to study BCA is around Rs.374000. Tuition fee and other charges for the year are included in this cost itself. There are three scholarships available for the students. Kindly ensure you check the details and eligibility criteria before applying.

Life at the campus is great. I was a part of the cultural activities committee and we organized a lot of tasks and events for the students of the college. I used to study a lot in the library since it provided the perfect environment. Our labs had the latest tech devices with the latest software. Sports activities were also held from time to time on the campus.

Hostels are equipped with each and every facility to make your stay a comfortable one. Rooms are large and spacious enough for storage of the stuff. The meal quality of the mess is also good. Convenience stores are also present in the campus premises for the purchase of daily-use items. Overall, my experience living in the hostel was good.
