College life

IIT JEE, The curriculum and conduct of my college lured me to purse my B.Tech in the college. The division of the course and the advanced topics being covered early help us to have an edge over other engineering students.

The curriculum is one of the best you will find in the country,so as to say, we follow the curriculum of IITH (International Institute Of Technology Hyderabad). It is fairly divided so as to lessen the burden and improve the performance of students.

Yes,our college provides internships for students to gain valuable experience undertaking practical applications of their knowledge. Stipends usually range between 1000 to 10000 Indian Rupees. You can be an intern at IITH working with others on important fields and probably publish your papers in the community.

Our college is rather new being just 4 years old so the on campus placement figures are small both in terms of companies and no. of students. Out of a class of 46 students, 8 have been placed so far. Out of 8, 4 have joined a Hyderabad based start-up with a package of 8 lakhs and rest of them have been placed with a package of around 5-6 Lakhs.

Our college has a number of cultural and refreshment events scheduled and managed by a committee of students, teachers and invitees and funded by the Institute.Out of the others, ABHISARGA is one of the important ones. We also have a campus life committee which organises trips for the students.

The overall fee amounts to about 1.05 lakhs per semester so 2.1 lakh annually. Its divided as follows Tuition fee 85000, Mess fee 18000, Hostel & stuff 12000, Admission fee:10000(one time payment), Caution fee:10000 (Refundable at the end of the semester).

The Institute is government aided so we have government portals which offer scholarships to the students based on factors like performance , family income and category, if applicable. I have not availed any loan facilities within the Institute so i don't have much of a knowledge about the available loan facilities.

Our first batch graduated this year so our college is on its way to build an awesome alumni network. Senior students are like the ultimate help you can get in your college life. They help you with almost anything and everything whether is related to the academics or your personal life with the experience they have.

Exams are organised every month and the lab exams about the end of the semester. This structure amounts to 2 mid exams,one final exam and a lab exam session in a complete semester. Also, practice labs are arranged every week to make the students learn the programming language and other aspects of the course and be prepared for the finals.

Overall,the faculty is good as far as my opinion is to be considered. All the faculties in the Institute are PHDS in their specific fields from renowned colleges. They have good teaching experience and above all,a good will to teach and not just lecture a class full of students who prefer to hit the break rather than attend a class.
