I took Haryana CET at that time. I got a rank of 345 and was able to get ECE in this college. I did not like YMCA because its hostels and campus was not good. So I opted for this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is more theoretical, with focus on theory rather than practical. Although practicals existed but no one paid much heed to them. All round courses were broad and all encompassing. For someone with interest and self studies he would be able to get best out of the college.
Internships Opportunities
No college did not provide internship. We had to search ourselves. In most cases we used to ask friends, relatives, near and dear ones for internships and projects.
Placement Experience
Placements in the college were good. More than 100% placements in Electronics, computers. At that time TCS, Cognizant, HCL were the highest payers with package of around 3-4 lakhs. For Mechanical companies like Maruti and Hero used to come which also offered in the same range of 3-4 lakhs.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was a govt college then and was pretty inexpensive - around Rs 10000 per year. Hostel charges too were not very high - around 3500 per semester. It was a 4 year course. Mess charges were Rs 1000 per head and every one got a single room with balcony in the hostel(boys).
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, there are some kinds of scholarships offered to economically weaker and backward. Also there are scholarships/rewards given to the toppers in the university.
Alumni/Alumna
We had little connect with our Alumni network. The college is pretty old, but they have not been able to take out anything from the alumni network. We learned by ourselves and with friends and immediate seniors.
Exam Structure
It was quite chilled out. We used to study more during the exams. During normal days we had very few assignments. Generally, the assignments too were same as previous year, so we could refer them , copy and submit and no one bothered much. Exams were quite different because anything could come no matter how much you study, so generally we used to study all chapters and then go for it.
Faculty
In general the faculty was old with mostly traditional method of teaching like self notes. Few examples with more focus on theory. Some lecturers did not even bother to give notes, while some read verbatim from the reference books. Few faculty members did good in terms of understanding students problems and helping them out.
