My Doctorate Programme in M.E

I have been fortunate enough that I got the opportunity to do all my higher education from an institution like IIT Patna, after my B.Tech & then M.Tech in M.E I decided to opt for the doctoral Programme in the same branch. Obviously being an IIT the experience here has been amazing, and the recent 47th overall and 21st B.Tech position in NIRF's rankings tell very well about the quality here.The institute is also given accreditation from highly popular firms and has been given National Importance. Admissions to PhD here are done as per entrance score and Interview performance.

The institute has been offering UG, PG as well as doctoral progammes across different departments and I have the experience of learning about course curriculum of each one of them. As per me, the institute never compromises on the educational quality as almost all teachers here have PhD degrees in their fields. The institute has produced some great professionals in recent years and the combined efforts of the institute and students have given great results to both.

We got great work and research opportunities through our PhD programme & it was a major reason for Enhancement of our creativity as well work Experience. The institute had good collaborations with leading colleges, companies etc and that gave us great interactive sessions with highly skilled professionals.

Leading companies visited our campus to recruit research students and that was the reason over 95% placements were recorded by the institute. Along with our programme,other UG and PG courses also did constantly well and took the highest salary package to INR 54 Lacs. Recruiters for all programs combined were 100+ and another achievement completed during the placement drive was an average package of over INR 15 LPA which was possible due to highly Impressive offers from recruiters like Goldman Sachs, ITC, Amazon and Reliance Industries.

IIT Patna charged a total Fees of INR 45,000 from students pursuing their PhD programme in Mechanical engineering. Students have to pay this fee in semester basis which makes it even more affordable. Those from SC/ST category are given financial concession and their total programme fee was INR 30,000. There are different opportunities to get good grants also

I was pretty much into my academic growth only and used to set goals to accomplish throughout my PhD programme so that I can match the expectations. Due to the same thing the research,industry interaction and academic competitions were my main focus and I rarely appeared for any cultural or sports activities of our college. But yeah they were all good and had good arrangements by their respective clubs. I participated in the sports fest at IIT,Patna that too when I was pursuing my graduation here and that was a great day for me.

IIT,Patna have a large number of courses and that's why the requirement of hostel accommodation is also obvious and for the same seperated girls and boys hostel is there. Candidates interested to avail the residencial services can apply through an an application form. The facilities in the hostels included furnished rooms, almirahs, internet connectivity and also good mess food. The charges were also decent and for me that place literally turned into my home.

IIT Patna offer's PhD programme under different domains and I applied for the one I studied my UG & PG in. The admissions to the PhD- M.E programme were based on the GATE/ NET scores ,after which the interview round was organised by IIT Patna. In terms of eligibility, it was important to have Bachelor's or Master degree in the relevant field.
