Entrance Preview
Appeared for LLB CET 2016-17 scoring 95/150 and the reason for joining this college was because it was one of the better law colleges in Mumbai compared to other institutes and also because it had convenient timing even for working students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is pretty elaborate and provides a good knowledge of our basic laws and duties. Research is a big part of law studies especially when it comes to the extracurricular activities and assignments and the college is well prepared to provide students with all the research materials in the library as well as giving access to Manupatra in its computer lab.
Internships Opportunities
The college does have a placement committee which deals with the internships of students. I am yet to undergo internship so i don't have much idea about the stipend and experience.
Placement Experience
The placements and job opportunities, from what I've heard is pretty decent and on par with the other top colleges of the city. The placement Cell of Jitendra Chauhan College of Law is committed to provide best job opportunities to all the students of Final year LL.B. who are registered for Placement Support.
College Events
There are various events celebrated in the college like the freshers party, various law related events and the main event being the Law Trust Event which is the annual college fest involving various law related competitions like the moot court competition and others and all the law students around the city are rather excited to attend it.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was feasible in Jitendra Chauhan College of Law but they can be really expensive in other private colleges. Private colleges charge anywhere from around 25,000 - 35,000 a year while colleges like Jitendra Chauhan charge Rs. 6980/- only per year.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, loan facility is offered by the college but they do offer various scholarship programs to the students to help them out.
Campus Life
The college has an proper gender ratio with almost equal number of both the genders. The college being a gujrati minority college enjoys a majority of gujrati students. There are various competitions such as the moot court competitions and the elocution competition and also sports competitions such as cricket and football. There are various law related workshops as well.
Hostel Facilities
There isn't a hostel facility available in the college. As it shares the same building as the Mithibai college and also various other colleges such as Pravin Gandhi College of Law and others, there isn't much room to provide for hostel facility. Besides, courses such as LLB doesn't usually require hostel facilities.
Exam Structure
The exams are held twice a year, one for each semester. There are frequent leaves and the exam halls depending upon the exam centers may or may not be comfortable. It is not very hectic and there is ample time to prepare our course. All the subjects require equal focus so the leaves come in very handy.
Admission
After appearing for the CET and getting the result, I got placed in this college in the first round of admissions. The admission process was rather hectic with the requirement of the domicile certificate along with the mark-sheets of the previous qualifying exams. Not everyone had a domicile certificate so the admission process became a bit stressful for the students. Apart from this the admission went rather smoothly.
Faculty
The faculty is well qualified and quite experienced. They show good enthusiasm towards teaching and making sure that the students understand the concepts clearly. The faculty is very keen to help students with any issues they may arise in understanding the concepts.
