Entrance Preview

I took the CET that was newly introduced from my batch 2016-17. As our entrance was new prerequisite for admission into any law college , the process was slightly confusing and messed up! It was our first ever online competitive entrance exam and i couldn’t finish 25 marks! I scored 81/150 .

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Every semester has four subjects and as I’m in the 3 year LL.B course ,with every semester the course subjects takes you deeper into law. I have represented my college for a national moot completion held in Bangalore Christ university . The research is pretty intense and apart from the extra curricular s ,our college is known for its strict attendance hence there’s a lot of interaction between the teachers and the students which gets us to do a lot of research back at home after college !

There are a lot of companies which come and hire fresh graduates as well as a lot of cvs of law students are sent by our placement head teacher to secure internships for us . College Events

2.5

Events and our very own festival “Law Tryst “ is welcomed joy and enthusiasm by freshers and seniors and teachers each year. Law tryst has a different theme every year ,last year the topic being “world of crimes” colleges in mumbai participate in our festival and other events organised by our college. There’s a lot to gain as it broadens our perspectives to a lot of budding lawyers meeting under one roof .

Fee Structure And Facilities

No loan facility is provided by our college but they do offer scholarship to helps certain students . The fee structure is pretty reasonable as compared to other private colleges in town.Jccl charges ₹6980/- as compared to others charging ₹25000/- to ₹35000/-. The infrastructure being better than most of the other law colleges our college has airconditioned class rooms a computer room a library it’s own moot court room etc .

Fees and Financial Aid

There’s no loan facility provided by our college but there are scholarships available to help and support students in need . The fees being a minimal amount of ₹6980/-

Campus Life

3

Gender ratios is kind of 1:1 and pretty much equal . A lot of budding lawyers are females and males of various ages, some freshly graduated and some resuming to study after ‘a lot of years,it holds good the saying that’s it’s never too old to achieve any goal .

Hostel Facilities

3

The food is very well known as they have collaborating with the aditi fast food line . The canteen of or college is very well known for the variety of food in and around college . There isn’t a hoste facility’s avaliable as such as ourcollege shares the building with mithibai college belonging to the famous SVKM trust. There are pgs easily available around the college for students out of Mumbai .

Alumni/Alumna

Yes the seniors are helpful if you have developed a good bond with them. Their experiences on how to go about a moot helps in guiding us to do better in our own experiences . The allumni also is very helpful as they help us train for various events too .

Exam Structure

The exams are held twice a year one for each semester. There are frequent leaves and the exam halls depending on the examination centre may or may not be too convenient for travelling . It’s not very hectic but tedious as it’s hardcore theory and ample time is available to prepare for the exams . The leave provided to us comes to be handy as there are four subjects .

Admission

The admin of Jitendra chauhan college of law is pretty well organised and they’re very stringent when it comes to collection of forms etc as per the cut off timings and dates. To get the admission form we had to fill it online and take a prinout of it and the. Submit it and fill another manual form at the college office ! There was also the verification of all our documents including the linguistic minority document as I belong to the gujrati minority.

Faculty

3

The faculty is amazing and interactive. The most amazing things about our faculty is that they’re very welcoming and great mentors to look upto as they’re knowledge and practical experience in the field of law is something that helps us a lot . When it comes to approaching them to solve our doubts they always help us even after college hours . We have a moot training committee and the teacher helps in training and guiding us . The faulty is very friendly and at ease with the students and encourage every student who takes initiative on an individual level to come forward and participate in any extra curricular activity .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum specially the first two years focuses more on subjects like history, political science etc and prepares are foundation for law. The curriculum is well inclusive of the practical aspects of law as well as the theory which prepares you well for the real world applications. The course can be improved via adding the amended laws like add in GST to the taxation laws. The internal as well as semester exams are conducted once every semester. The difficulty level is easy to moderate for both. We get a study leave of around 20-25 days before every semester exam to prepares ourselves well.
