Remarks
I only applied for Amity University. To get admission, i gave a written test for english proficiency and then a face to face interview. As i opted for B.Arch program, the questions asked were generic and related to my aspirations and field.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is absolutely relevant. The only thing that lacks is practical knowledge ragarding the field. There are seldom site visits, but there should be more. Faculty student ratio is 1:25 for minor subjects and 1:8 for major subjects. The ratio is quite less so each student gets attention. All Teachers are Architects, some with a masters degree as well. Term exams' difficulty depends upon the subject. Although on average its easier to pass for 90-95 percent of students. The only thing that bothers is 75 percent compulsory attendance.
Internships Opportunities
Internships provided are rather on informal basis than formal basis. Students have open option to get internships themselves. Or if they are unable to get any, teachers and faculty help them with their contacts to get them internships.
Fees and Financial Aid
As the course is 5 years long, it is divided into 10 semesters. The fees increase 5 percent every year. 1st sem fees is 120000, and till the 10th sem it gets to 157500. The course is quite hefty at a cost close to 15-16 lacs for 5 years excluding hostel fees. I don't know much about scholarships, but there is an option to pay in installments.
Campus Life
There is an yearly fest called as Amity Youth Fest. Which has not been conducted since three years due to covid and other reasons. Amity library is one of the best. The books you cannot get a print of can be found on their ebook section. Sangathan is the yearly sports competition. It consists of many sports and students are encouraged to participate. Amenities and infrastructure are the reason i think the fees is high. Amity has clean and optimum comditioned washrooms, there is labs and studios for practical subjects, they have updated computer systems, there is ground for all the major sports, a swimming pool and various canteens and cafeterias. Clubs are associated with departments. My department has a Cultural Society, Nasa team and Exhibition Society.
