Entrance exam - SNAP Score 70%. Chose this college as I was from computer engineering background. Having a technical background and being above average student SITM was the best option as I did not want to drop for 1 year.

Course structure of SITM is excellent. It focuses on Telecom, Technology and Finance along with Business. Any changes in the industry are dynamically picked in the curriculum. Courses like, analytics by IBM, Value Added Programmes like ITIL, eTOM etc. are the part of curriculum itself. Also, Research project is a mandate, and the process of the project goes on for 2 months laying stress on extensive research and study with help of faculty and industry experts.

Yes, Summer internship is conducted by college itself. Companies from various domains such as Operator,Consulting, Networks, VAS, Digital Media etc. Stipend varies upon company and skill sets of students. College also makes sure that any company/ profile that is irrelevant to final placements does not make their way to campus.

Minimum package is around 5 lacs whereas maximum goes till 17 lacs depending upon market conditions. Few frequent companies to be named from different verticals are - Telecom operator, Idea Consulting - Protiviti, EY, KPMG, PwC IT - Infosys, TCS, Accenture, IBM.

College has lot of Management events and few cultural fests. Though all festivals are celebrated, Management events like telecom seminars, conclaves etc. are hosted often. Industry experts across the globe are invited so that students can gain the knowledge and it also gives students a platform to meet experts and show case their knowledge on global front.

Alumni network at SITM is brilliant. College has alumni committee which bridges the gap between college and Alumni and works towards maintaining the relations. Alumni support the college in placements and internships. Alumni even help students in research projects and mentor the students whenever required.

Exams and Labs are a frequent thing. Symbiosis does not believe in 1 exam to pass it all. There are monthly assessments and each assessment is different from previous assessment in terms of course and structure. Assessment can be MCQs, subjective type test, PPT, Assginment, Report etc. Final exam is full subjective type exam and comprises of 40% of marks. Monthly assessments make 60% of marks broken up into 3-4 assessments.

After SNAP, I had to go through Group Discussion and Personal Interview process. After SNAP results are out GD and PI are scheduled by college. In the process mainly Extempore, GD, PI are conducted. The process is not very difficult, and interview is taken by faculty and industry experts.

Faculty at SITM is highly learned, professional and qualified. They keep abreast with the fast changing world and incorporate that in the lectures. Mode of teaching varies from typical lectures to PPTs, role plays, assignments etc. Proff. Giri Hallur possess vast knowledge of Telecom along with related industries such as VAS. All the lecturers are gems.
