Remarks
I applied to 3 colleges in Chennai for the BSC. Psychology program. Women's Christian College, Stella Maris College for Women, and Shasun Jain College for Women. The cut-off of Women's Christian Colleg and Stella Maris College was based on the Cast of the candidate. The cut-off for Christians and SC/ST was way lower than that for FC, which was an unrealistic 98%. Admission was a tedious process and I realized how some colleges are going backward in terms of progressiveness.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course for my love of psychology. Our department has 10 faculty members for a student population of 250. Though there are no PhD scholars in our department, the faculty members are kind, welcoming, and ever-ready to guide and inspire. They are well-read and know how to guide us through the course.
Internships Opportunities
again, not many internship opportunities for BSc psychology but the college does try to give a set of institutions for applying. plus in covid, i'm not very sure if the college would have given away. non with a stipend for sure. generally, psychology internships involve courses and educational programs. thank you.
Placement Experience
students are eligible for placements from year 3. not very sure of the companies as my course is a science-based course and there aren't many placements offers for psychology undergraduates. I plan to go ahead with my master's after this degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
the average fee is 55,500 per year for 3 years undergraduate program. It is reasonable in terms of the program. the hike is around 2000 per year and it is not very expensive. the course is affordable and recommended. the college also provides scholarships for the economically backward students,
Campus Life
the college has an annual fest. the department of psychology has an annual fest called psyfest and it invites students from all streams to participate and benefit from. the college library falls a little short on the required books and journals based on the course syllabus. the classrooms are good. there are around 15 clubs in the college,
