Entrance Preview
I took the IBSAT entrance exam which is at par with CAT, MAT, XAT, and NMAT. My score was pretty good and I chose this particular college because of the ranking the college had received at that time was in the Top 12 B-Schools in India.
Course Curriculum Overview
Regarding the curriculum, IBS- Hyderabad has one of the best methodology. The course curriculum is 100 percent case based. These cases are either developed by IBS itself or they refer the Harvard cases. These cases give you a actual scenario of how problems are handled in the real world and what steps should be taken under pressure.
Placement Experience
As I told you that there is a PLACEMENT CELL in the college which looks after the placements, there were about 250 companies that came during my session. All these companies come in a stretch of 3 months and all the students who volunteer for the placements get jobs. During my session 85 percent students volunteered for placements and all of them are placed with a very decent package. The average package was Rs.6.5 lacs and the highest was Rs. 24 lakhs.
College Events
You are going to have a ball at IBS Hyderabad. There are events happening every weekend in the campus. There are around 10 clubs which keep on coming up with new events every weekend. And there are so many celebrations that there comes a time when you actually get fed up with attending so many parties and functions. Every festival is celebrated with so much enthusiasm that you would never want to leave the campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Comparatively the fee structure is not very expensive. If you attend any other B-school of the same level the fees would be around 1.5 times more of what is being charged here. The fees includes Hostel and mess fees as well. During my session the fees was Rs. 12 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
Loans are easily available once you get the admission. I do not know about scholarships. Loans can be availed from any banks. The government banks provide the educational loan at a cheaper interest rate as compared to the private banks. But the private banks have a less tedious process than the government banks and the disposal is also quick.
Campus Life
During my session girls were in majority. Around 55 percent of the students were girls and 45 percent were boys. They all come from different parts of India. You would have a mix culture and would come to know about people and lifestyles that you never knew about. The campus is a 100 acre campus and the it is Lush green. The campus is very very beautiful and it is maintained very nicely.
Hostel Facilities
I have never seen any hostel as clean as the hostels in IBS. Every MBA student gets his own personal room. There are 2 options for rooms. One is with attached washroom and the other is with common washrooms. The common washroom is also very very clean. The common washroom area has 4 bathrooms and 4 toilets shared among 10 students .
Exam Structure
The exam structure is quite interesting. It is divided into 3 sections Class Participation (CP), Non Class Participation (NCP), Projects and Presentation. The CP and NCP individually comprise of 30 percent each. Total 60 percent. And the project and presentation is for 40 percent. So the entire exam structure is quite interesting and is not hectic.
Admission
The admission process is the same as the other top B-schools have. First is the entrance exam. Which is not impossible to crack. If you clear the entrance exam you will be called for group discussions and if you clear the group discussions too the same day you will have the personal interview round as well. Taking into account your overall score and the cut off you will receive a admission letter in a period of 10 days.
Faculty
No matter how much fun we make of our teachers but indeed they are one of the top faculty in our country. Most of them have a huge experience and are an ocean of knowledge. they not only teach you the syllabus but they also prepare you for the corporate world. You can have any kind of discussion with them and when I say any kind of discussion, I mean it.
