Remarks

I liked the courses SRM offered, their placement record for the School of Computing and the beautiful campus. SRM, especially the main campus (Kattankulathur) has a lot of amenities for a smooth student life and the placement training and cocurricular opportunities is good.

Course Curriculum Overview

Bachelor of Technology in Software EngineeringI was deeply interested in computer science and software engineering and I liked th subjects and electives they offered. SRM takes assessment tests very frequently and throughout the year, which can be a little too hectic for the students. There are also lots of graded assignments.

Class Size: 75Course Fees: INR 10 per year

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for placement from 7th semester. Over 250 companies come to hire students, however they are mostly for CS/IT/SWE streams. Both mass recruiting as well as good product based companies come to the campus.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For usual merit students who get in through SRMJEE rank, for Software Engineering course the tuition fee was 2.15 lacs per annum. This is just the tuition fee exluding accommodation and meals. If opted for non-AC hostels, accommodation and meals can cost an additional 1.2 lacs. The fee struicture changes based on the course. Top rankers of SRMJEE or XII standard board exams are eligible for a fee waiver.

Campus Life

There are two fests held annually - Aarush, the techno-management fest and Milan, the cultural and sports fest. The fests have a huge footfall from all over the country with lots of events, stalls and celebrity guest performances. Students can volunteer or participate in these events. There are also a lot of other smaller events held throughout the year.

SRMJEE is like any other standard JEE exam which has aptitude, mathematics, physics and chemistry section with negative marking. There is no group discussions or personal interview.

A LIFE IN SRM UNIVERSITY(main campus)

i applied to VIT, BITS, amritha, ssn, sns and finally SRM.I got a confirmed admission from SRM and VIT .I choose SRM over VIT because of lesser fees comparatively and SRM also has a wide range of specialization options in its course. I got less rank in the VIT Entrance exam so i got andhhra and bhopal campus which was very far and not comfortable for me.The others colleges were not suggested by my friends and finally thought SRM was better. In SRM .. the admission process is smooth and it is fully online and nothing is offline. As soon as the result of the entrance exam got published .. we are given the option to take the full admission process with the questions of what course do we prefer based on the rank and thereafter the dates for everything is shown in ur respective portals given to us throughh which we gave our exams...Read More
