Remarks
The admission process at Nirma University was very smooth and on time. There were hardly any delays in the response from the University's end on the ongoing processes. I had applied to a lot of colleges accepting UGAT along with others with separate exams like PDPU, NMIMS, etc. As Nirma University provided a 5-year Integrated Programme unlike most other colleges, it was more preferable to go here for me. The admission criteria for students in the General Category included: securing at least an above 80% score in UGAT or above 85% score in 12th Standard along with the clearance of the Personal Interview. Once you clear the round of personal interviews and are selected, you are also eligible for scholarships as provided by the college based on merit or based on the requirement.
Course Curriculum Overview
Taking this course made sense as it was clear to me that I wanted to pursue MBA after BBA from the start and choosing an Integrated Programme allowed me to learn ahead from the rest when it came to studying the same things over and over as all redundancy between courses and subjects was eliminated in the well-planned 5-year programme. Faculties are well-qualified for the subjects they are allotted and there is a well-maintained faculty: student ratio in the college.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities were available by the end of each year of college which added as an essential factor for growth and learning for everyone here. The different internship opportunities available included: Publicis Group, DDB Mudra Group, YES Foundation, Nivea, Rasna, Airtel, TATA AIG, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Novartis, Ingersoll Rand, Wunderman Thompson, and NGOs like Center for Environment Education, Blind People's Association. The stipends varied as per the roles, usually between 10K to 30K. The roles offered could be that of Media intern, Project Intern, Client Servicing Intern, Accounting Intern among many others.
Placement Experience
The Placement Team of the College ensures that each student is placed with a well-deserved organization and package. In the last two semesters (last year) of the MBA program, a student is eligible for campus placements. A lot of companies, whether from the Finance sector, IT Sector, Ed-tech sector or in the FMCG sector visit the college for placements such as HDFC Bank, Xiaomi, Byjus, Tech Mahindra, Publicis Group, Adani Group, Balaji Group, etc have visited the institute in the past. The highest package could go up to 20 LPA while the average is around 7-8 LPA and the college ensures close to a 100% placement ratio for all students who have opted for College Placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
Once you join a course, your fees will usually remain the same regardless of most circumstances. There is a hike in the fees of the course every year so only the new students enrolling in a course will have a different fee while you continue to pay the same fees for your years of graduation and they pay theirs for the 3 years of graduation. The institute provides various scholarships starting from 50% of the fee amount to 100% of the fee amount. These scholarships are given based on merit or based on economic conditions.
Campus Life
Life on the Nirma campus has at least something for everyone! Whether it be the abundance of books in the multiple libraries across the University for all those who love to read, or it is a variety of food items served in the different canteens across the campus for all those who love to eat, or it be the numerous fests and events hosted by the multiple clubs and committees of the University for all those who are looking to chill and have fun. There are clubs and committees for college fests, dance, music, books, drama, sports, debates, societal causes, and a lot more, all formed and run by students offline as well as on social media platforms. When it comes to the infrastructure, the University only kept getting better with all classrooms equipped with projectors and Air conditioners while some were also being tested for Smart Projectors.
Interview Experience
After screening of candidates based on their UGAT and college scores, there was a Personal Interview Round. In this Round, questions related to personality, preferences, hobbies, interests, and concerned subject matter were asked. I prepared for these rounds with a coaching institute names IQue Ideas. We were required to give mock interviews and were taught how to answer certain questions in an Interview apart from the basic etiquettes one must follow during the process.
