Remarks
The first step in the admission process was filling up an extensive application form wherein the candidate had to fill details of education background and work experience. An SOP was also required to be written. I did not avail any quota and I think there is no quota available at the time of admission. The shortlisting criteria was a minimum of 60% marks in 10th, 12th and under graduation and a minimum of 85% in CAT or XAT and a minimum score of 630 in GMAT. After initial shortlisting, there was a GD/PI round followed by a listening assessment.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the PGDM-Core program because I was looking for a holistic learning experience that is all-encompassing. The faculty-student ratio is 17:1 which is decent for a batch of 500 students. Many quizzes and assignments happen on a regular basis for continuous evaluation of students. Term exams also happen at the end of each term. The exams are of mediocre difficulty and require effort to pass in.
Internships Opportunities
Major companies that offer internship opportunities are Deloitte, HP, Dell, Infosys etc. Multiple internship opportunities are offered in the domains of marketing, finance, HR and IT. Internships are considered a credit course and are to be completed in 2 months.
Placement Experience
From the first trimester, itself SIP processes begin and eligible students start applying for relevant roles. Top companies that regularly visit and make multiple offers are Infosysy, HDFC, Wipro, Mahindra etc. The average package is close to 11.2 LPA. Multiple profiles in sales marketing, BFSI, operations, HR , IT and analytics are offered. 100% of the students get placed each year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure majorly constitutes tuition fees and hostel fees. Merit-based and need-based scholarships are provided to 50 eligible students. The total amount of scholarships provided is Rs 2.9 crores.
Campus Life
The campus is a beautiful and serene expanse. Extra-curricular activities are well encouraged as there are multiples clubs and committees. Some examples are the sports committee, literary and media committee, marketing forum, finance forum etc. The annual fest of the college is called Atharva and it includes cultural as well as business events.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are adequately spacious and of double occupancy. Facilities like air-conditioner, constant and electricity supply and wifi network are available. The meals are outsourced to external vendors and are provided on pay per meal basis. The campus is residential and availing of the hostel is mandatory. The hostel however is a little on the expensive side.
Interview Experience
The topics of GD were generic and related to everyday life. They did not require too much awareness of GK. The interview questions are behavioural and the listening and reading test was based on comfort in comprehending English that was affected by local accents. Reading questions were reasoning and analysis based.
