Remarks
All IISER's conduct a common aptitude test called SCB also accepts admission through Jee advance channel and KVPY. IISER has a common admission portal where you need to rank your preference among all the IISER's. After the selection through all the rounds gets complete they call you for counseling. In the 1 month period of college, you need to finish all the paperwork.
Course Curriculum Overview
It's quite a new department in the institute which was introduced in 2018 and the institute tries to bring new faculty every year currently we are having 7-8 faculty members for my batch of 23 students. As an Indian institute, it has some standards for its faculty, all the professor have completed their Ph.D. and post-doctorate in a well-reputed institute. The institute has its fixed examination pattern, we have 4 continuous assignments throughout the sem have a weightage of 20% and a mid sem exam of 30% and finally, end sem of 50%
Internships Opportunities
It's a research-based institute so most of the internships are over other institutes. I have done my last internship at IIT Indore. College professor also provides some internships under them. For the co-operate internship you need to apply by yourself. Faculty do give you LOR according to your academic performance.
Placement Experience
Since the first batch is yet to complete its graduation so no idea about placement but we do have a placement cell. This year the first batch that is 2018 batch is in the final year and the placement will start within few days after that we can have a proper idea.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is as follows: General 36000 Sc/st 10000 You have to pay 3000 per month as a mess fee. The fee do change for every other year, consider a hike of 1000-2000 for every new batch. While they remain same through the span of degree. Also you need to pay some one time fees in first year. Scholership: KVPY students do get Steffen from admission, also the other have a chance to get inspire scholership on basis of your CPI. Also every sem 10 spi students get other benefits.
Campus Life
There are vast options for extracurricular. Like sports council, cultural council(dance, drama, and music) council, and fine arts council. Every council arranges fest so your sem get a pack with it all. Also, there are many clubs under this council.
Hostel Facilities
You get a shared room (one room has 2 students) room consist of two single beds one cupboard one study table and one LAN port. You need to pay one-time allotment fees at the start of 1st sem. Then the fees for the very sem get added in sem fees. You get 3 times meals in the hostel one breakfast lunch and dinner. The quality is decent, you can choose between veg and non-veg. The hostel is on the campus.
