Remarks

IIHMR University is one of the best colleges for healthcare management courses. To apply for MBA-HM in IIHMR one has to clear any management aptitude exam. I have cleared IIHMR U-MAT, which was conducted by the college itself. I was called for GD/PI after clearing the exam. Admission was based on the overall score.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have opted for MBA-HM (healthcare/hospital management) purely out of interest. Though I'm a medical doctor I prefer to work in the healthcare-hospital administration and management sector. IIHMR provides a strong foundation for the same as part of their flagship MBA program. IIHMR is an academic as well as a research institute. Most faculties are Ph.D. holders with excellent academic experience, which is a major highlight

Internships Opportunities

Internship programs are provided in various healthcare firms, government agencies like National Health Mission and hospitals. All students are guided by mentors which help them to make the best out of their internship programs

Placement Experience

In first year students will be placed for internship programs in various healrhcare firms as well as hospitals. Job placements start in second year. Almost 100% students are getting placed every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee is worth as we are getting the MBA from one of the finest institutes for healthcare management. Scholarships can be availed on a merit basis. The University provides almost 100% placement for students, both for job as well as internship programs. We have a strong placement cell to take care of that.

Campus Life

IIHMR University is one of the cleanest colleges in India. The curriculum is well organized. Classroom amenities and library facilities are of good standards. There are a lot of opportunities for students to exhibit their artistic as well as academic skills.

Hostel Facilities

There are separate hostels for boys and girls within the campus. The rooms are air-conditioned and well maintained. A mess facility is available. Hostel needs to be booked after completing college admission procedures by paying hostel fee for the first year

Interview Experience

The first step of admission is to clear any management aptitude exam with desired scores. After that, there was GD and PI as part of the admission process. GD topic was on the Covid-19 scenario and intervention of the health sector in controlling the pandemic. PI was mostly to evaluate aptitude, communication skills, general knowledge, and current affairs.

Remarks:

The college is very renowned and have a name and fame. The college provides all the basic requirement which need to be there in the college. The medical facilities and 5 mess are there for food facilities. There is no Negative stuff because everyone is quite helpful. Only negative thing is that the university is quite old so a renovation is required at some of the places.

The cafeteria, on the campus, provides an ideal place for students to gather and to exchange notes over cups of coffee and wholesome snacks served throughout the day. The lighting and the ambiance within the cafeteria are modeled on best contemporary designs for cafeterias with comfortable seating arrangements, self service and racks containing a wide range of newspapers and magazines.

Choose college wisely if there is good placement available

I even applied for chitkara university but I chose this because the placements here are much better. After graduation, anyone can take admission if they have scored 50% in their graduation. A place to explore and learn if you're passionate about healthcare domain!

1. I had applied for GIM, TISS, SIHS, XIMB -RM. I didn't join GIM due to hefty fees for a non-flagship course, SIHS because of no proper placement details and XIMB -RM out of no interest in the course field. For TISS, I got waitlisted for the applied course so couldn't enrol. 2. I didn't avail any quota for admission. 3. For MBA Hospital and Health Management there's no age limitation. Bachelor's in any specialization with 50% marks in aggregate are allowed for the course. Candidates should have valid scores in exams like CAT/XAT/CMAT/NMAT/MAT/ATMA/GMAT. For CAT, the cut off percentile is 55. The university conducts there own institute's entrance exam IIHMR UMAT. They can appear for UMAT and appear for round 2. 4. The admission process is through an Aptitude test. After the test they conduct GD-PI. There is no age limit for admission.
