Remarks
I had applied to a variety of colleges like NMIMS Bangalore, SIBM Bangalore, FORE, LBSIM, etc. Eliminated majority due to factors such as quality and distance from home. PGDM - general at TAPMI had a cut-off of 88 but work-experienced candidates were considered case to case. The admission was a clean and simple one. We had 1 round of GD which lasted for sufficiently long and was moderated by a faculty and made sure everyone got the opportunity. The interview was clean as well. Everything was online.
Course Curriculum Overview
Thought of majoring in Operations and hence chose PGDM core. The faculty to student ratio I am not sure but the faculty are approachable and nice. They always allow students to clarify doubts. All faculty are PhDs. Case analysis predominates teaching. They are knowledgeable. Yet to witness an end-term exam and hence not in a position to comment on term exams.
Internships Opportunities
Almost everybody gets an internship opportunity. Stipend depends. Proper learning outcomes and I am yet to get an internship opportunity as I am still in my 1st month of college. From my seniors and friends I have heard that everybody gets a nice opportunity. And there are a few students who do not get a stipend for an internship.
Placement Experience
Campus placement applies from the 2nd year. Internship opportunities are there right from the 2nd month of joining. The number of companies visiting the campus is 100+ and the average package is about 11.5L. We have a 100% placement record and it is not bloated. You can take a look at the TAPMI placement record and everything is very transparent. That is one of the best things about TAPMI. The only drawback is that marketing companies are less and all are sales oriented.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are pretty high at TAPMI like any tier 2 Bschool, about 15.1L for 2 years. Dr. Ramdas Pai scholarships are the main scholarships. The average placement figure is about 11L. ROI is slightly low but the brand name overpowers that issue.
Campus Life
I have not been to the campus due to the ongoing Covid situation. There are a of a lot of fests. The classes are going smoothly currently. there are 31 clubs and committees in TAPMI. Most are student-run. SCOT, Welfare, Council, Placement Committee, etc are a few committees.
Hostel Facilities
Have not seen the hostels yet due to online classes. But looking at the pictures and videos of the campus and amenities, it looks good. The only gripe is that it is costly. 1.55L excluding food and electricity bill. We have heard that food would roughly be about 200 per day! It translates to almost 2.5-3L a year. Which is too costly for an educational enterprise.
Interview Experience
Faced all the 3. The topic for GD was "Work from home". My interview questions were predominantly on my work-ex. I was just reading a few FAQs and interview questions online. Read news as well to stay updated on current affairs.
