Entrance Preview
I gave MBA Entrance exams of CAT and MAT in 2010-11 and hence got interview call from Amity Business School for its flagship MBA Course on my MAT Score basis, which was 93 percentile. The day of interview we were scheduled for one small write up about ourselves followed by a Group Discussion session and ended with Personal Interview.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure of Amity Business School, is really well designed and keeps up with the market needs. Not only the main and regular subjects but despite being Finance students we were taught about, HR Policies and how it works, adding to that there are a few must courses which every one has to take and pass properly to get our degree.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the college does provides summer internships, for which separate interviews used to be conducted. The general stipend at that time used to vary anything between 12- 15 Thousands. As far as the experience goes, we had to be for our corporate mentor for a period of 7-8 weeks and the mentor used to assign us projects.
Placement Experience
Placement and Job Opportunities provided by Amity Business School were not on the brighter side during 2011-2013 session, as we were recovering from recession and being a Finance Post Graduate, Govt. Sector banks were also prohibitated, our condition was not very well. But still, some promising companies like, Deloitte, KPMG, Black Stone, IndusInd Bank, SBI Cards, ONICRA, NPCI did come for placements.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network of Amity is very strong and yes indeed they are very helpful, as we get chance to guide new students and help them through the process and ice breaking. Other than that the alumni network also re-connects every once in a while for keeping up sessions.
Exam Structure
Exams were actually three fold process in Amity Business School. First, we used to get 5 marks on our class attendance, throughout the semester. Second, used to be Mid Semester Exams, which carried 25 Marks value, and depended upon teacher how he/she distributes it. Usually there used to be a project and presentation worth 15 Marks and a Surprise Test worth 10 Marks.
Admission
I gave February 2011 MAT Exam in which I scored reasonably well. After that as I earlier shortlisted Amity Business School as my top 3 priorities, call came to me from college for its flagship course. I filled in the form which came along with the prospectus and then sent it via post/ courier.
Faculty
I was lucky to find some of the greatest and helpful faculties during my tenure at Amity Business School. Professors were extremely helpful and co operative during the class as well as afterwards the class. Some of them always went extra mile to help us and guide us in the way we needed.
