MY JOURNEY AT ICFAI

ICFAI Business School (IBS)-Hyderabad is a constituent of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), a Deemed University as per the UGC Act 1956. Established in 1985, IBS-Hyderabad is one of the top business schools in India. It has been ranked at #12 in the nation by Hindustan Times in a 2012 survey. The school has been re-accredited by SAQS (South Asian Quality Standards), rated A** by CRISIL, EB2 IN by ICRA and as an Excellent Business School by Eduniversal. So, I chose this university.

The faculty pool at IBS-Hyderabad is a good blend of people from the industry and academia with majority having PhDs. The Program comprises of 30 courses (22 Compulsory Courses and 8 Elective Courses), Summer Internship Program and Soft Skills Labs. These courses are spread over four semesters. We are also holistically taught and trained through the concept of Syndicated Learning Programme (SLP), involving class room sessions, Group Discussions, Mock tests, Interviews designed and executed by Academia and Industry experts. SLP prepares the MBA student ready for campus placements. Domain knowledge and soft skills are rigorously included in the SLP.

The Summer Internship Program is an integral part of the course curriculum. We undertake a 14-week internship during the intervening period between close of Semester II and commencement of Semester III. BBA students also do internships. Internships provide students valuable exposure to the corporate environment. I did my internship with Amazon and got stipend of 30000.

The top recruiters are ABSYZ Software Consulting, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, Adrosonic IT Consultancy Services, Air Charter Service India, Amazon Development Centre India, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, Bajaj Capital, Bajaj Finserv, Be the Change Media, Bharti Airtel Services, HDFC, ICICI, and many more. The highest package offered was 16 LPA and the average was 8 LPA. I got job with HDFC with a package of 14 LPA.

Several public and private sector banks provide educational loans to applicants. Applicants seeking educational loans may approach the respective bank branches. The Financial Aid cell at IBS facilitates the bank loan process wherever required (finaidcell@icfaiuniversity.in).

The student community at IBS is truly diverse; students come from different states, social and cultural backgrounds, and all walks of life. Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are very much a part of the day to day life on campus. Events across all areas of management as well as those related to sports, socio-cultural events, and the arts are organized throughout the year.

Hostels are neat and clean. There is no PG near the campus. The food is good and healthy. The food costs you 22000 per year. The washroom is attached to the room. Hygiene is maintained in the hostel.

The applicants are shortlisted based on their academic qualifications and work experience. The shortlisted candidates are called for the selection process. The selection process comprises of Micro presentation and Personal Interview.
