Remarks
I took JEE-Mains and my score wasn't that good so, I applied to Medi-caps University as this university has a good ranking in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. My High school and 12th grades were quite good so I had a good chance of getting admission there. Based on my merits I was eligible for B.Tech in the Computer Science branch with Cloud Technology and Information Security specialization. The cut-off for the computer science branch was 58 marks in JEE-Mains. The admission process was quite smooth, there were counselors available to guide the student.
Course Curriculum Overview
The future for the cloud computing field is bright. I wanted to be an Engineer so I thought why not go with the in-demand tech field. The Faculty ratio to the student is around 1:24. Faculties have good knowledge in their field but I faced some issues with teaching methods as some of them had a very boring way of teaching. I came across some great teachers as well who supported the students very well. But honestly, the burden of assignments was too much and teachers didn't even open your files after submission, that's basically a formality but so much stress was laid on submitting assignments. You get an academic calendar at the starting of each semester and almost all the events and exam dates were accurate. Passing and scoring well in exams is not that tough.
Internships Opportunities
Teachers start passing internship opportunities messages in class groups during the summer and winter break. University also provides Industrial training during summer break and every course in the summer internship program has different fees.
Placement Experience
Campus Recruitment drive starts during august or September month before your 4th year. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, Axis bank, BYJUS, Indiamart ,Daffodil softwares , Big Oh Notations are some recruiters. Some companies have criteria of a certain percentage in 10th and 12th. Some also put a constraint that the applicant should not have any active backlog or even a single backlog in any semester. The average package is around 3.5 LPA. Almost 80% of students get placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
When I took admission the fees for my course were Rs.1,10,000, for the next intake the fees were hiked by Rs.10,000. Every year fees is increased by Rs. 10,000. As compared to other states the fees in Madhya Pradesh is quite affordable.
Campus Life
The annual feast of the university is known as Moonstone, which is generally held in the month of February. It used to be a great deal in the past but now there's not much to do during the fest. The most fun activity to be held on the campus is Hostel Premier League abbreviated as HPL, where all the hostellers are divided among 8 teams and to select the players bidding is held before the event starts. There are 6 games for which teams compete. There are several clubs like cultural , sports ,marketing, etc. For social service, the NSS club is also there. Campus life is pretty boring as college is built in the outskirts of Indore. So it takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour to get to the main city by bus.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms in the girl's hostel are quite spacious. Each room accommodates four beds and each student is provided with a separate bed, a full-sized wardrobe, a table and a chair. The washrooms are not attached. There are 18 rooms on each floor and a total of 10 bathrooms and 10 washrooms. The food quality is okay-ish and the items on the menu are not repeated that often. But the worst part is the in-time for the girl's hostel, You have to be present at the hostel premises before 6:30 PM and the college premises before 6:00 PM which is pretty early as it takes a lot of time to travel from the campus to any place. Wardens are changed very often because of which the students face difficulties as it takes time to adjust and become friendly with the warden. One induction is provided for each floor but sometimes it stops working and the floormates are required to collect money and get it repaired. Mess is closed on sunday evenings that means you have to arrange your dinner by yourselves.
