Remarks

First I applied for Gandhi College in Bhubaneswar but a low score in OJEE so I studied at INDUS Engineering College. Admission criteria as normal we have to attend ojee first then we have to seat in counselling and advance payment then admission was done and the minimum age is 18 years.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose electrical engineering because I am comfortable with the course and it is a high demand course also. We have average qualified teachers here but they are very helpful and solve our every doubt very well. The semester exam is held on every 6 months of interval and it is very hard to clear personally I have 3 backs total in my b.tech career.

Internships Opportunities

The companies like Bhusan steel who came to our college offered us, junior managers, in the workshop section with a Stipend of 20,000 per month. Some students got placements in different companies from our college.

Placement Experience

From the 5th semester, a student will be eligible to seat on campus for placements with minimum marks of 70% on overall semesters to date. There are companies like Nalco, Bhusan steel visited our college. The highest salary package offered to me was 3.7 lakh per annum and the average salary offered to me was 3.1 lakh per annum. There are 40% students from our course got placements in different companies

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no price hike policy here and the cost of the study is normal as compared to other colleges in the city. I got the job in Nalco Pvt Ltd and I got it in my 3rd attempt on campus sitting with a stipend of 21000 per month.

Campus Life

The library was the best place here on the campus it was very well furnished and we have lots of books to grab from for our skill improvement. There are very few extracurricular activities in our college like Academic research, leadership positions, etc.

Honest Opinion in the college

Placement Experience:

There are internship opportunities at the starting of 3rd year and job opportunities at the starting or 4th year. This year many companies visited the campus which include DE Shaw, Flipkart, Oracle, TCS, VISA(for summer internship drive), and various start-ups like Sarvam AI and many more. Highest package was 56.8LPA by DE Shaw. Flipkart took a total of 20 candidates (12 were selected for 34.5LPA and 8 for internship opportunities). Average package going around 9LPA. TCS mass recruited candidates for around 4 LPA, and ORACLE has been consistent at taking candidates for 24 to 25 LPA. Percentage of Students placed for CSE branch is 90. Many students opt for M Tech courses via GATE exam after getting their degree.

Value For money college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

Overall the college and the campus is very good but the exam pattern is worse so it should be improved

Placement Experience:

From 6th sem of completion eligible to sit in placement called by campus placement in university. Companies like accenture, techmahindra,tech bee,and wipro comes for hiring. Highest package till now is 29 lpa and lowest is 1.5 lpa. Average package is 5lpa. Mostly 80 percentage of students getting placement from campus drive. My plan after getting degree is getting job from campus drive.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
