Remarks
After my B.Tech I applied for M.Tech (PE) and I got selected for the course. No quota for me as I belong to General Caste Admission Criteria: Requirements such as above 60% in B.Tech and at last an interview. Admission Process: Not much for an M.Tech guy, Went directly for classes only.
Course Curriculum Overview
Took this course to get into Oil & Gas Industry (Upstream). I was in a small batch of students upto 25 and only one batch for M.Tech (PE) and Faculty is Great. Faculty Members were mostly Retired, Engineers or PHD Scholars. Monthly assessments and Final Sem Exams only.
Placement Experience
Placements were given from the 3rd sem of my masters. Only one company visited for M.Tech (PE) guys, i.e, Global Data from which I had an offer of 4 LPA package but declined as It wasn't a core and moreover I was not planning to be an Analyst. 5 LPA was the highest given by Global Data. Only 25% got placed in Global Data as many declined the job offer. Just preparing for interviews to get O&G Industry as soon as possible as due to the pandemic there were no openings for freshers.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Fees are pretty much costly and hiked every year, Financial Assistance is provided to the needed and I got no scholarship. I just had a monthly stipend of Rs 3000/-, Exclusively for M.Tech students and PHD Scholars.
Campus Life
Uddaan and many fests were conducted during my academic year. Books and journals were available in the liberary free of cost. Great Classrooms with facilities like a Punch card system for attendance, projectors, and other basic stuff. Great area for sports and extracurricular activites on the campus. SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) was the group I joined.
Hostel Facilities
Great room with all basic amenities like attached bathroom, geyser, water purifier, and cooler. Food is good with variety. I rented a PG so no registeration process and It cost me like 1 lpa. PG was located just 50 m away from the University.
