I applied to several colleges but my dream was to study Microbiology at Midnapore College No quota was taken by me, admission criteria for admission in Microbiology Hons in Midnapore college are pass marks in physics chemistry and biology in HS exam. The admission procedure is to first the form fill up and it is on the "First come First serve" basis. On the admission day, I have to carry my photo identity proof, printed copy of the form & INR 10,500 with me.

I was passionate about Microbiology from my childhood so that I choose this course. In the Microbiology department the students: teacher ratio is 1:20. Qualification of our faculties are too high, they have PhD and post doctorate from several famous institutes. Their teaching ability is too simple but easy to learn. I understand almost everything from them & they helped me in many cases. There were 3 exams taken in a 6 months semester & the question was average in grading but easy to pass.

In the Microbiology course the course fees are too high I think. It 11,500 per semester is like a burden to middle class economic students like me. It should be decreased according to me. I haven't received any scholarship, financial assistance and job from my college campus.

The name of our annual cultural function was "anadam" & it used to hold on the last week of February or 1st of March. The tech fest was named "Satyendranath Bose memorial Science festival" & it was held in the 2nd or 3rd week of March. Our library is high quality and almost all types of books are stocked needed by the students, there was a digital library also where many foreign journals can be read. Classroom and department library was quite good and they offered books to poot students. A sports festival was held in our college every year in the middle of September. There was a social media group named "Midnapore college friends" run by students.
