Remarks

I applied to Delhi School of Business, Pitampura and IILM for Higher Education, Lodhi Road. Both institutes are well reputed. IILM has good UG courses and the faculty is great. The reason for not attending is I didn't find the PG courses as appealing as the UG courses. My admission is solely based on merit and my performance in GD/PI and written exam held by Delhi School of Business. While applying for the course, the eligibility criteria include Class 10 and 12 Marksheet, Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA and providing the score for any entrance exam mainly CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, MAT or any equivalent. The admission process involved Submitting an 'online' Application Form with a fee. Once short-listed, you'll be invited to attend a presentation by Admission Manager Mr Siddharth Jain followed by a Personal Interview and a Written Exam. The written exam is based on Quantitative Aptitude Assessment and Data Sufficiency, Case Study Analysis and Report Writing.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I wanted to pursue further studies and was confused between a degree and a diploma. As per my research, PGDM is a skill-based course and focuses more on the personal development of an individual which is necessary for working in a corporate environment. Whereas courses like MBA focuses more on theories and traditional ways. It helps create good connections with the faculty. It determines how good connections can be formed with the professors and how much the students can participate. All the Faculty is highly qualified from corporate leaders to philosophers. They have years of experience in the corporate world which is a bonus for students as they'll know real life experiences of real people. My course just started so I haven't had any term exams yet.

Internships Opportunities

4

The companies that offer internships at DSB are IDBI Federal Lifesurance, HP, Avitas, Bhel SMC and Star Union Dai-Ichi. I haven't gotten a chance to intern yet considering the recent commencement of the course.

Placement Experience

4

As of now, there haven't been any placements as the course commenced recently. As per the previous record, the placements seem to be good which is one of the reasons why I enrolled in this institute. The highest package as per the DSB website has been 22.27 Lakhs CTC and the lowest 7.3 Lakhs CTC.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee for the course is 8,45,000. It is to be paid in 4 instalments with each term. The institute provides scholarships on merit-based and to the EWS. I haven't gotten any job on campus yet as the course commenced recently.

Campus Life

4

As per the students, I know from this college, the campus and college life is awesome. I haven't gotten to experience any of that yet considering we're amid the pandemic. For now, everything is done virtually and the college is trying to keep things as good as normally it would as health is prioritised for students own safety.

Interview Experience

5

The interview involved quantitative aptitude, the overall personality and confidence. One must also know the current affairs which is an essential part of the interview. The written exam included Quantitative Aptitude Assessment and Data Sufficiency, Case Study Analysis and Report Writing. I prepared by being updated on current affairs, read the newspaper daily for the interview and went through my CAT study material for the written exam as they had similar topics.

Other Applied Colleges

IILM for Higher Education | PGDM

The undergraduate program at IILM are good. I didn't find the PG course quite as appealing.

You get an opportunity to learn and become a more responsible person. You need to attend classes as they carry marks but you also need to be active and do other things as well in order to learn as many things as possible. It teaches you a lot. Since the infrastructure is shared with other courses also, at times it becomes difficult to get access to seminar halls and other things.
