Remarks

College Management has the biggest priority as discipline over anything else. The discipline is expected in attendance, in our visits outside college, in mess while eating basically in every step we take. The college offers such huge options to expand one's creative/intellectual/knowledge skills that we needn't wait for any guidance.

Entrance Preview

The entrance examination was AIEEE. I scored 1.5 lakh+ rank and I opted for this college based on three criteria: 1. The magnificent infrastructure and state of the art facilities that will enable me to learn and skill up better for my rank the admission was available in this college. I got the stream of my choice.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The focus on research was not immense, but the courses were elaborate through the years. There were some interesting elective choices to be made in the pre-final and final year where some interesting choices like Radar and CAD Design was offered. The first year covered major basic engineering sciences subject. The second year focussed on electrical, electronic and communication structure. The third year was dedicated to system designs. The final year was for applied engineering sciences and advanced study on the electronic systems.

Internships Opportunities

The college did not provide internship. There were a few offers or cos. partnering with our college that made it easier for students to apply for internship. Otherwise, it is an individuals's effort.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placements season starts early in the final year. The college has some elite tie-ups with GE, Accenture, Ericsson and few colleges in UK and US to pursue Masters. The college does not give many options to choose from though. The first semester had Infosys, Accenture and Ericsson coming to hire. The second semester saw two core cos. like Samsung and GE to hire.

College Events

2

Yearly tech fest inviting students from across the country, Cultural fests spanning across the year. The technical fest is called Cordinazo which has students from BITS, IIT, NITs,colleges of Jaipur, Delhi, Goa, Mumbai. The fest has competitions sponsored from IBM, Accenture and many events hosted by the students itself. There is a literary fest with writing, poetry reading, drama being the key points. The cultural fests are twice in the year. Once an intra college fest during Navratri celebrating Dandiya and Durga Puja. It is a 3-day celebration with food, games, clothing stalls and cultural programmes to make the students enjoy the holiday season.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is (as per 2012): Rs.1.4L yearly as tuition fees and Rs. 90000 onwards for hostel fees if one chooses to stay inside college premises. While the fees is relatively on a much higher side especially the accommodation and mess fees, but there are huge perks involved for staying inside. The tuition fees though is expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarship for students who are academically very strong (based on 10th n 12th marks and AIEEE rank) and cannot afford the fees of the college.

Campus Life

5

Campus life can be monotonous if not led strategically. The gender ratio is not a question as it is a women's college. The college is situated 3 hrs from main city Jaipur. So life needs to be planned inside. Friends, groups, teams have to be part of your life and not the other way round. There are a lot of societies, from science, to writing, to fashion to CSR that take up major time of your creative head space. The hostels are a great place to interact with your peers and seniors and while formal dorm parties are rare, but the college campus has more than needed options to keep your day and mind occupied. The students hail from mostly northern and western and eastern regions of India.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel is elaborate with all kinds of facilities. Very spacious, clean, and with all facilities of Wifi, TV, clinic support, expansive rooms, ACs etc. The price however can be quite high. The mess is one of the largest (seating 2500) in Asia and the food is nothing less than a 5-star hotel. The no. of food options in a regular meal is way beyond imagination of any hostel goer. The discipline associated with having food in our college is something to learn from! There is also a separate paid cafeteria. There are numerous extra curricular activities one can undertake including something like Horse Riding and learning foreign languages.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful and friendly with all support being handed over and a lot of care taken of the younger students joining in. The alumni network needs to be stronger and more active.

Exam Structure

The exams per semester were divided into two Mid terms and one semester end exam. We had frequently 4 hours of lab in a week. The labs were generally scheduled after the theory classes. It did become hectic at times when the theory classes extended for long.

Admission

In the month of June there was an advert in a national daily for admissions opening for Mody Institute of Technology for its Btech Programme. I sent the fees in DD to receive the application form and the college brochure. The form was accepted and I was invited for counselling in the college in July. The counselling was a two day process and all the admission formalities too were completed at that time. During the counselling, the first day was spent introducing the parents and students to all the details about the course and the college. The second half was used to choose the stream available based on AIEEE ranking and a visit to the hostels and mess. The final day was reserved for submitting the tuition fees and other administrative details were completed.

Faculty

3

The faculty at Mody are extraordinarily diverse in terms of age, experience, education and cultural background. There were Mtech students who were also lecturers to there were 30years experienced research professors and visiting management folks to take our sessions. But the faculty on an avg lacked imparting practical knowledge into the students about the subjects.

Reviewed on Mar 2, 2025(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is vast and allows a student to explore all the possible options to take before deciding on one . The field of elctronics and communication engineering allows one to deal with electronics and learn all the possible tinkering with them which is a very fascinating part as all the gadgets possible today were made of them. The curriculum does satisfy this thirst by teaching about them in the class of electronics and electricals and then experimenting in the lab with them . The areas for improvement could be that if a student is interested in a specific field then should be allowed to venture that field throughly instead of sitting in every class , but that is an imrovement for the indian education system as as whole . The classes of every subject does occur frequently and and exams take place every month in a form of quiz or proper pen based exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I like computer science and I can see my future in this course. The current ratio in computer science courses is around 1:5. And we don't have technical communication teaching at present and the college is saying that they will recruit teachers as soon as possible. The student-teacher ratio in all the branches is around 1:3. All facilities are well qualified and teach well but they are not permanent and hence they may or may not be changed next year. There are two semesters in each year and an examination is conducted after each semester. The difficulty level of these exams ranges from moderate to difficult.
