Remarks
In 2014, when I decided to go for MCA, I gave an entrance exam and got 75 marks out of 200, then I went to the local cybercafe to fill up the further forms. There was an option to choose 10 colleges on per priority basis so I chose K. J. Somaiya College, Bedekar College, NMITD college, SPIT college, VJTI, Vivekananda college etc. And luckily because of my cast reservation, I got my admission in the first round in NMITD College Dadar. I am Bouddha by the cast, therefore, there were some reserved seats for SC candidates, I have all the documents required at that time and because of reservation, I got fees concession as well. To get admission in MCA, all you need is graduation from any stream and Crack the CET exam of MCA. I can't tell you the minimum marks & age required because it was decided by the college administration. At the time of admission, the office staff and teachers were very polite and helpful. They cleared all my doubts and helped me fill up the admission form.
Course Curriculum Overview
At first, I didn't know why I was choosing MCA, most of my friends took admission to MCA that's why I did too. But afterwards, I realized, I have made a good decision. There was a total of 60 students in our batch and 6-7 teachers. Every teacher was taking a 45 minutes lecture and daily we had 6-7 lectures. Every teacher in our class was best in what they teach to us. Most of the teachers were post graduate and applied for PhD. They understand us as a student and sometimes they used to teach us in a very friendly and in easily understandable manner. Sometimes teacher uses games to elaborate what's in a chapter, They used to teach tricky maths and hard definition in very simple manner. We had 2-3 Industrial visits with our teachers and it was a great experience for us. At our time no examination was postponed, which means every exam was held on time, the subject was never difficult to pass but we used to study less and get KT but on the second attempt, we strive hard and pass the exam.
Internships Opportunities
I am working in the same company since the placement, the company name is Arise Facility Solutions, they offered me a digital marketing intern job with 5000 stipend at that time, which I accepted and still I'm in the same company. Every semester we need to submit projects for every subject. Which you can consider every 6 months while deciding the project topic and working on it, we were blank but the teacher's guidance helped us and at the time of presentation, we know what we have worked with detailed knowledge. The college projects helped us work on something new and the outcome is today we are happy with our jobs.
Placement Experience
After 4th-semester students become eligible for campus placement. There were a lot of companies present at the time of campus placement out of which I recall cloud Ganga Software Company required a developer for them, there was 20-30 vacant placement in that company and they shortlisted 20 candidates. The package was varying by the knowledge of students but the highest package offered was 30000 and the lowest was 10000. Almost every company was looking for a Software Developer, Testing and Analyst. 60% of students got placed in the campus placement. My plan was to become a digital marketer and I got an opportunity in a campus interview. Till now I'm in the same company placed at the college time. It's been 4 years now.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
On the first day I know the amount I need to pay at the time of admission but I just filled up the form on the first day and paid the fees after a week because they weren't accepting fees in hard cash so we need to create a DD of the amount told by the college. The fees are divided into 4 parts. The students who belongs to SC/ST cast had to pay 15000 Rs for the first year and on the second and 3rd year the fees hiked by 10000 and 12000 respectively. The students who belongs to the OBC cast had to pay half of the fees that is 50000. The students belong to the Open/ General cast had today the full amount of fees they had no concession, and the amount was 1 lac. But the students who were unable to pay the huge amount can go to EBC. Which reduced their fees by some percentage. I want to add my key point if there were no reservations for me, I didn't even imagine completing my post-graduation. I got a Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj Scholarship, and I got a job in Digital Marketing my stipend was 5000.
Campus Life
Our annual fest name was Darpan, which was conducted after our one-year completion. There were a lot of tech fests happened in our college, and we used to attend most of them. Every fest conducted by the college were in a month of December, January and February. First of all our library was very large in size almost 200 students can seat easily. It was the very silent place to study we used to complete notes and study at our library. The books availability ratio was 90%. We used to complete the journals and place them in Library as our teacher's staff room was near the library. We had the single and comfortable desk for every individual student, Had AC and a projector. Classrooms were big in size. Our college lets us know the sports opportunity in our college as well as in other colleges, we participated in Cricket, Kabaddi, Carrom, and indoor games also there were different comedy and dance session happening. I couldn't recall any social group or website run by students.
