Nitesh's Review On Karunya Institute Of Technology And Sciences - [Karunya Deemed University], Coimbatore

The entrance examination was called as K-MAT (Karunya Management Aptitude Test). I don't remember how much I scored in it. I opted for this particular college because a friend of mine refereed me this college and also some of my family friends who were the followers of Dr.DGS Dhinakaran told me that the university is good.

The course curriculum at my time was not very impressive. It was ok at a basic level but the time in a given semester and and the practical industrial exposure was very less or nil. After taking admission a lots of other factors came in my mind. That i should not have taken admission in a college with engineering as well. because most of the priority is given to engineering students.

I was selected for a company called Pro-dex in Chennai but was not able to get the job. Two of my friends got the position of Brand Manager . But since Sub-prime crisis hit the economy everywhere by the time I pass in year 2009, our batch struggled too hard to get a job.

We have a lots of event in our college. The events includes both cultural, sports and religious events. Starting with sport, it is a cult in our university. We conduct one of the South India's major sport event called EMT(Evangeline Memorial Tournament) were the sport person from many university of south India assemble and plays various sport like cricket, basket ball, kho-kho, kabbaddi etc.

The fees structure in 2007 was very nominal and ok, We felt it fine as the fees was not that much. For me the fees was 40000 per year in 2007. Hostel and mess were separate. Hostel fees was 20000 for one year and mess mill usually come around 3000 per month.

My college did provide loan at that time. But I think we were supposed to open an account in Syndicate bank. As far as scholarship is concerned I heard of some which I don't remember now.

Most of the good faculties who were there in the college left by the time we joined. The rest of the staff were quite new and I think was not much help to me. Even though they were knowledgeable and very much interested but while explaining the subject many were not confident to explain in English. Those who were able were not experienced enough, neither in industry nor in education.
