Remarks
I first heard about DBS in my college from one of our professor who told me alot about the education quality of DBS. So I decided to do my master's from there. The admission of students is based on the 10th, 12th and national level exam marks along with the interview. I applied for my course by visiting the college itself and filled the admission form and paid the application fees of Rs.1078.
Course Curriculum Overview
To be get myself into the field of marketing I chose marketing in MBA. Course curriculum is well set. The course is divided in 4 semesters having 8 subjects in each semester. After the second semester students go out for a two month summer training. The faculty: student ratio is 1:50. The teachers here are experienced and we'll qualified. They use advanced teaching methods to teach us. The exams of the program are held regularly and the paper level is not very easy.
Internships Opportunities
I did an internship in the firm named BookmyBook for a period of three months. My job role was of a business developer, where I had to create strategies to solve different business problems and execute them. I earned a stipend of Rs8,000 per month.
Placement Experience
After the first semester the students are eligible to sit in campus placement. RBS, FedEx, Patanjali, Kotaka Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank etc are some of the companies visiting the college campus for placement. The highest salary package offered by companies is of Rs 23.5LPA, whereas the average is of Rs 7-8 LPA. Almost 85% of the students are placed in these companies. I am currently working as the Marketing manager in FedEx.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total fees for the program including tution fees is Rs. 4,81,000.There are different scholarships that the college provides on the basis of merit. I paid Rs 4,45,000 because of the concession I got for my CAT scores as I had scored 80 percentile.
Campus Life
Life at DBS campus is very good. We get to be in a diverse environment where students are from different states and nations. The library of campus holds many books and journals along with proper sitting arrangements for the students. We have different clubs of singing, dancing, social work, drama etc. Cultural activities and sports activities are also organized by the institution. The annual management fest of DBS is Manfest which is organized in February.
Hostel Facilities
I lived in a room that had attached bathroom, a balcony and was shared by three students. The charge for the room was Rs.62,500 per year and the meal charges were Rs36,750, same for all. The hostel is equipped with basic facilities. There is gym, indoor game facilities, mess etc. The mess is clean and well furnished. The food of mess is also very good and hygienic.
Admission
I gave CAT exam which was a bit tough but I worked hard and scored 80 percentile. Practicing the topics everyday and solving different test papers made me get good grades. I was called for a PI where the interviewer asked some questions. They asked me to introduce myself, asked a reason why I chose the course, my most rewarding or challenging academic experience etc.
