An important role in my life-Smt MMK College of Commerce and Economics

I applied to just a handful of colleges such as HR, Jai Hind, MMK, and Nationals. MMK was always my college of preference as it was close to my residence and in a locality like Bandra. Being a part of the Sindhi minority community, I received admission in the Sindhi quota in the college. Being a reputed college the cut-off was higher at 85% so I had to wait till the 3rd list to get a confirmation of my admission. The non-teaching staff was also very supportive of the whole procedure and guided all students correctly. The admission process was very smooth in the first couple of years. It was very systematic and straightforward. Even during my third year do the circumstances of the pandemic, the college held admissions systematically and no one in my knowledge faced any issues in doing so.

The course and the syllabus in BMS aligned the best with my aspirations of being a business executive so I chose that. Apart from a few permanent teachers, most of the faculty were visiting but were always accessible to all students. The term exams were held twice every year including regular internal examinations every semester. Due to the exceptional teachers that we had in MMK College no matter how difficult the exams were, the students were well prepared with the syllabus. That being said the examinations were not the easiest to crack but at par with the capacity of an undergraduate student. There was no issue faced by any students to the best of my knowledge.

Several companies came to the college for internships. Students that were interested applied for them with ease and several of my friends even got their preferred placement. This is all thanks to the efforts of our Placement Head in charge, Ms. Sana Dhanani who makes sure that the students of MMK get top-tier placements.

The college has a number of top companies coming in each year for recruitment some of which being Motilal Oswal, Endurance, Aditya Birla among others. There were several placement rounds that took place in our final year and I even got selected for an internship by Motilal Oswal. My plan after getting this degree would be to help my family business grow and get a master's degree in the coming years.

The course fee is very affordable and the definition of value for money. With the quality of education provided and the other amenities the college provides, MMK charges appropriate fees. The fee of self-finance courses is similar to that for BMS being 17000. On the other hand, courses like b.com and Junior college are even more affordable.

The annual fest of the college, Enthusia was one of the best things that ever happened to me. The experience and exposure I got as Managing Director for an inter-collegiate festival on such a huge scale were immense. Apart from that, the college has several amenities. Classes are equipped with projectors and the college has 2 dedicated computer rooms too. The college also holds an annual sports day and celebrates several festivals like Independence Day and Teacher's day every year.
