Remarks

I had given an exam for VITEEE but I didn't join it because I wasn't getting the desired stream i.e IT or CSE for me, I didn't avail any quota benefits throughout my college life. For taking in admission in SRMIST you need to give an exam i.e SRMJEE and if you score rank under 10000 then you have a fair chance to get into the Computer Science stream and if you make it under 15000 then u might get into IT as well. In my case, I could get into the IT stream despite getting a 16000 rank because the cut-off for the year 2016 for IT was around 17000 rank. One more thing is, You should have more than 65% of marks in PCM for being eligible for admission. Discussing the counselling day, I would mention that there was a big auditorium and one has to sit for hours and once they announce that rank range between this to this should come forward and submit their documents photocopy, you have to follow that. As far I remember you should have a photocopy of SRMJEE rank, aadhar card, photocopy of mark-sheet of 10th, 12th.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I choosed this stream because I wanted to persue the software engineering field, there were 75 students in each class and sometimes fewer than that. Most of the teachers had Phd degrees but I didn't find them very good in teachings, most of them are rude except a few. few are good as well. Teachers use ppt for the presentation of topics although no one listens to them. There were too many exams it was quite hectic. You will find yourself giving exams every month, it may be Cycle tests, class tests, quiz tests, practical exams, semester exams and many more.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for placements when they are in 3rd year of college. There are hundreds of companies that visited our campus, to name a few I would mention Unschool, Tetoota, Xebia, HCL, Odessa, Infosys, ZS, Udaan, Amazon, Cerner, HP, Dell, Siemens, Coviam, Delloite, Barclays and many more. On average, each company made an offer for more than 10 students at least. The highest package during my placement year was 32 lakh in Microsoft. The percentage of people getting placed is higher than 85%. Talking about my plan, I landed a job in Coviam Technologies with 7.5 lakh CTC.

Fees and Financial Aid

For each batch, fees are fixed and it gets changed every year, like for my batch tution fee was 215000 and for next batch, I found it more than 275000. There was financial assistance provided if you secure a good position in your class, you have filled a form and submit it in the UB building, 9th floor. I got placed in a company with a dream job offer (more than 5 lakh) in my case. There is a placement cell providing lots of job opportunities and also they organize internship fairs if you have the skills you may get a chance over there.

Campus Life

4

There are two fests that ais very popular over there, Aarush and Milan, lots of tech events are organized and if you participate, you will be awarded certificates, lot's of fun happens in these events, especially in Milan. Singers and comedians host their events, DJ nights too. There are two buildings where classes are taken, one is University Building, it's for first-year students, there is AC in every class in his building and fan as well, projectors are also there for presentation. The second one is Techpark, it's a non AC building with a projector and fans. Considering the sports part, we have a big playground where you will find people playing football and cricket. Talking about the site run by students. It provides study material for subjects.

The specific aspect which is great future on IT Field of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course. The curriculum prepared me to solve tough real-world logical aptitude test and coding test. The course curriculum is only based on the theory in several areas. My suggestion is to improve that too in practical manner for better real-world understanding. The frequency and the timing of my exams along with my perspective on the difficulty level is 2hrs.

Students right from the second year will be given training related to their placements like basic aptitude, soft skills and programming languages. Every year almost 93% of the students who have shown interest towards placements are placed with competitive packages. The highest package is upto 54 LPA and the average stands upto 5.2 LPA.
