Remarks

Since I wanted a college that would be close to an International Airport, Mysore was the first city choice (Being close to Banglore Int'l Airport). I did not think much about any particular college, was searching for a college that had good ratings, had a good hostel facility, and was secure since my parents do not stay in the same country. I wrote my COMEDK exam, it was a smooth process. Then I had to enter colleges of my choice. It was all random entry. GSSSIETW was one college that caught my eye, it was for Women, had a hostel facility was one of the fast-growing colleges in Mysore and had good placement records. I did not give it a thought till I got it in my Mock round allotment, and got confirmed in 1st round allotment. Without much of a thought, we confirmed the college. The counseling session was a one day process, all the procedure was done in Bengaluru, final documents were submitted to the college and a seat confirmation done. Forms were filled and fees paid to the college and hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Computer Science was a subject that interested me during my school days, hence I chose that as my branch. GSSSIETW has good faculty in the CS branch. A class comprises 60-65 students. A lab batch can accordingly be divided into 20 per batch. Lecturers are well qualified and are friendly. College notes are available and are circulated every semester. Library with the prescribed textbooks of the latest edition is available and is allowed to be borrowed by the students. During a normal college session (under VTU), Odd semester would usually start from August and end by December end - January beginning. Even Semester would start from February and end by June end - July beginning. Each term has 3 internals, 1 lab internal, 1 lab external, and 1 final exam (2017 scheme). Having studied CBSE during my schooling, Engineering was easier and clearing exams or scoring well wasn't much of a difficulty with a little hard work.

Placement Experience

4.5

A good number of Companies visit our campus making Good Placement statistics. Students are given awareness regarding the Placements from the first semester and Training starts from the 2nd year. Pre-Final Years get internship opportunities which can later be converted to job opportunities. Final Year students fulfilling Company specific requirements are eligible for the Placements. For the current Graduating Batch (2021), The highest package offered is by Amazon with 19 LPA. Mass hiring companies like Capgemini, Accenture, TCS, DXC, etc. can have an average package of 3.5 LPA - 4.5 LPA. The Placement Department brings in the maximum number of companies possible to cover all students with varying CGPA. More details regarding placements can be checked through the College Website.

Fees and Financial Aid

As for the fee structure, since I joined through COMEDK, the fees were reasonable, There are a lot of scholarships given in the college to the students. Gita Chaitanya Scholarship is awarded to meritorious students. A lot of great placement opportunities are brought on campus by the Placement Department. For more information on the placement statistics and the companies visited, the college's official website can be visited. I got into 4 companies Capgemini, Accenture, TCS, and FISERV. Many Placement Preparation sessions and classes are also provided to benefit the students.

Campus Life

5

The campus is amazing consisting of Buildings for Engineering, MBA, and Architecture Students. Annual College Fest Geethayana is conducted grandly and there are Tech Fests conducted separately by each Department, where students from all other departments and colleges participate enthusiastically. CSE department has its Tech Fest by the name TECHNOSPECTRUM. The library has a wide range of books, both academic and others. A Digital Library is also available. Classrooms are well equipped with benches and desks, a projector, whiteboard. Sports Activities and other extracurricular activities are also conducted. There is an incubation cell where students can present their ideas. Also, there are many clubs like APTI Club, Literary Club, etc., I myself am a part of APTI Club, here we help our juniors be placement ready by giving them various inputs and competitions.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel facility is inside the campus. One of the best hostels I have seen when compared to my other college friends. Currently, there are 4 Blocks, A, B, C, and D, The MBA, Architecture, and MTech students are given a separate block, and since the majority are Engineering students, 3 blocks are reserved for them. For the first year, a room will have 4 students each, and from the second year on, 3 students per room. All rooms have an attached washroom. Hostels are kept very clean. Cleaning staff is on duty every day. The meals are provided 4 times a day (Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, and Dinner). There are fixed timings and a fixed menu for the entire week's schedule. The menu can be changed every new Academic year based on the student's preference. Quality and Hygiene of the food are maintained. There is an Annual Hostel Fest conducted grandly exclusively for the hostel members. All the Festivals are celebrated in Hostel giving the students a home-like environment.

Placement is good, every student who tries to get placement will surely be placed in campus placements, but off campus would be difficult as this cllg is a tier-3 cllg, so many companies reject in resume shortlisting. Maximum every CSE student will get placed but max of them would get placed at an offer of 3.5 or 4.5lpa

I would say academic wise. There is nothing much happening right now in first year, but then there are many events like hackathons happening where and we can participate and learn a lot even our first year and we have English film and Japanese film, which is basically a whole language club and there are a lot of activities happening such as debate and all, which is obviously helping us gain a lot of public speaking skills and confidence.
