IFMR Review

I applied for Wellingker, MDI Murshidabad, IMT & IMI. The reason for not attending those colleges was that IFMR was the best option for me among all. The admission process was smooth and well-coordinated. It happened over a zoom call. The criteria for shortlisting were CAT/CMAT scores. The weightage was divided for academics, CAT/CMAT score, and Personal interview.

IFMR is famous for its finance specialization. The curriculum is well-framed according to the market's needs. There's 1 faculty for every 10 students. They are well qualified and follow very flexible teaching pedagogy. Term exams are conducted in a very timely manner, I have never seen the college postponing or rescheduling exam dates unnecessarily. The difficulty level is moderate to difficult, varies from subject to subject.

One can refer to their summer placement reports for in-depth details of the companies and stipend offered by them. Projects offered were in the field of research, marketing, fintech, HR, accounting, etc.

From Semester 5th students are eligible for placements. Companies start coming by the end of the 4th semester. Numerous companies visit the campus, be it Big 4 consulting companies. One can refer to their placement reports for in-depth details. All students get placed through the campus process.

The fee structure seems a bit high if we compare it to what it used to be previously. But if we compare it to the placements they provide, one can settle for the deal. The college grants scholarships on a merit basis. We have seen the management being very considerate in the times of covid for providing financial assistance to the person who was specifically in need. Even though there was a tough summer placement season, the college tried its best to get us good opportunities with a decent stipend.

All the events organized by clubs and committees were conducted online. Even the annual fest was done online over zoom. The frequency of events is good. College is known for its indoor facilities, but unfortunately, we haven't experienced it excepts few students. Their reviews about infrastructure and facilities were good.

We get double occupancy air-conditioned rooms with attached bathrooms. We are not allowed to accommodate outside the campus. The food quality is decent, the menu is regularly modified according to the student's demands.
