Remarks
I applied for many other colleges like BJB, Bhubaneswar and GM University, Sambalpur but didn't attend because my first priority was Ravenshaw. The minimum marks for admission were 55% and the minimum age was 18+ for BA. Due to covid admission was done in online mode at first I filled the form which was available in University website and sent a xerox copy of required documents by post and then waited for selection list. I got selected in the first round itself then I paid the admission fees online and went to university to submit the original documents.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose political science as my honor subject because of my interest to know government well. There are about 80 students in my department(1st yr). The teaching staff is very efficient, they clear the doubts of the students and take the class as scheduled in the timetable. They are friendly with the students and help them to grow well.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of my course are very less and affordable. We pay admission fees and some money for semester exams. There are many stipends provided by the central government as well as the state government. There are different criteria for the different scholarships and stipend percentages.
Campus Life
Ravenshaw University is one of the oldest universities in the country. Our campus is also known as the Red Empire because of its color. The campus is very beautiful and mesmerizing with lawn and red building. There is freshers party and farewell for the students and many more events. Our university has one of the biggest libraries in Odisha with many books. Many extra-curricular activities are also conducted. There is also a Student Union for the help of the students.
Hostel Facilities
There are many university hostels for students for both boys and girls and the cost is affordable. There are many private hostels and PG around the university for the students. For a university hostel, you need to pay yearly for electricity and water, and for food you need to pay monthly.
