Remarks

I didn't apply to any other college. I didn't avail any quota for admission. There are no minimum marks for B. A. English which is the course I opted for. They didn't ask about my age. I went to college with my mother. Joby sir, the old HOD of the Tourism Department checked my certificates, asked me about my interest and they advised us to fill the application form. That's all.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose B. A. English Literature (Communication and Journalism) as I was interested in literature and also journalism. The faculty consists of 5 or 6 lecturers including 1 HOD. The lecturers of our department are very friendly towards us. We were more like friends, we were really attached to them. Ours was like a family, we could ask them for help anytime and they would take the time to listen to us and clear our doubts. We could understand their teaching and had no troubles with it. We had one internal and one model before the semester exam. If you study well, you'll pass. That's how it was. It wasn't hard at all for me.

Internships Opportunities

5

Our course required us to do an internship during the final year. Me as well as my friends opted to work for a month on a local news channel. The workers at the news channel organization were highly motivating and friendly towards us. They explained to us the history of the news channel, the process of collecting, gathering and arranging news articles, giving voice over, editing and post-production, live reporting, etc. It was a new experience that will remain fresh in our minds. The internship didn't give us any stipend. We had to prepare a report about this internship. The questions asked would be about the knowledge we gained during the internship. For our course, there was another project, where we were supposed to go to an educational institution and teach the students, no matter what the subject is. But from our batch onwards, this project was cancelled from our syllabus, by Mahatma Gandhi University.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is feasible for everyone - not too high, not too low. It's affordable for students belonging to all kinds of backgrounds. I didn't get any scholarship, financial assistance or job on campus.

Campus Life

3

The departments in the college conduct different types of fests and competitions. Either the entries are supposed to come from within the college itself, or sometimes other colleges are invited too. There are workshops and seminars conducted on the campus, with the aim of developing the students' talents and abilities. There are a lot of books and journals available for the students to explore. The library is very spacious and has a number of computers, for the students to access in case of any assignments or projects. The classrooms are very spacious too. The college conducts arts and sports competitions too. However, the management is a bit careless. During my final year, I and my friends had won some competitions. But we never got any certificates or trophies. This was clearly due to the irresponsibility of the management. It'd be better if they took care of such drawbacks. The students sometimes take initiative to help the poor in the neighbourhood.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is suitable for the modern age of teaching, the way of education is well balanced with projects, assignments, presentations and also notes .we have reading assignments where the faculty members ask us to read an entire book and give our review on it.the exams are quiet moderate and in my opinion teachers should use more ai tools as a learning aid which will be more effective for the students

Placement Experience:

From the last semester pass out we a re eligible for the campus recruitment for job or placement. So many companies visit us for the interview or some checking like , hero honda , maruti suzuki etc. the main reason for it was a low amount of budget is that get from this placement maybe 15 thousand let month ect. Only the company can take the students for it so the percentage of the students who getting placement will change in every year. My plan was to get an admission in the central government University for doing master of degree in History. And try the best exam called upsc.
